- Finn -Some would say it's weird for a human to stare at another human without them knowing. Finn Wolfhard thought so. This definitely was something you'd never think you'd catch Finn doing. That was until he found someone to stare at.
He couldn't help it, though. Two weeks had passed and he'd find himself watching the short haired girl, outside his window, playing out side in her backyard. She seemed like a child. So happy and filled with joy. She'd reach her arms up to touch the flowers that grew on the trees. She'd lay on the grass, surrounded by all types of flowers. All. All except roses.
He'd stand in front of his window until she'd run back inside, as if someone were calling for her. He wanted to meet her. He wanted to say hello. But he was afraid, which was weird. Finn had never had stable relationships with girls. They'd always end up breaking his heart. Dumping him for someone else.
Finn was quite the charismatic boy, though. He was charming and flirtatious. But for some reason, he didn't have the courage to knock on her door and ask her out on a date. She made him feel shy.
When he saw the girl smelling the roses that her mother didn't let her take, he got an idea that he thought would surely get the girl's attention. The first rose he left in her bedroom was with a letter. He decided to keep giving her and maybe she'd plant them in her garden. But she didn't. He didn't pay much mind to that, though.
But one afternoon, he couldn't get the girl out of his mind. He climbed into her bedroom to leave her one more rose but before he could, the girl had seen him. She kicked him out of her room without letting him explain.
Finn thought he'd never get a second chance. Never.
"So what did you think about Millie?" Finn felt an elbow hit him against his rib. He jumped, his thoughts fading away as he looked at his friend, wide eyed. It was Caleb. He had been talking non stop about his new girl friend, Sadie, who's a freshman at Los Angeles Public High School. He'd finally changed the conversation.
"Oh she's hot!" Gaten scooted into the conversation.
Finn glared at Gaten as he spoke, "I mean, she's great. I wonder if she has a boyfriend-"
"I don't think she does." Finn said, his voice very plain. The boys squinted their eyes at him, trying to read his poker face.
"What makes you think that?" Gaten asked, rubbing his chin as if he had a stash.
"I don't know..." Finn shrugged. He couldn't quite explain his answer. He just had a feeling that she had never experienced romance. The way she danced and played around in the meadow gave Finn a feeling that she was just too pure. Innocent. Very innocent. Maybe too innocent.
