The next morning between housework and kisses from my daughter all I could think about was Jordan.

When would I see him again?

When would I see his wolf again?

What was he doing right now?

Was he thinking about me too?

And then my heart races and my ears ring with the wonderful ping of a FaceSlam message. I slowly turn my phone screen up to see who it's from hoping it's from Jordan. I nearly squeal with excitement when I see his name displayed across my screen. I hurriedly open his message.

'Hey, baby. I just wanted to see when you and Tasia could meet with me again. It's only been 9 hours since we saw each other, but to my wolf and I it feels like an eternity."

I start to message Jordan back but then decide I would much rather hear his sultry voice. So, I message him my phone number. Almost instantly my phone begins to ring.

I smile at my phone before answering.

"Hello, Jordan."

"Hello, gorgeous. How are my two favorite girls?" My heart swells when he takes my daughter into consideration with everything he says and does.

"We're doing good. It seems I really miss you though," I say happy he can't see me blush.

"That's music to my ears sweet mate," he slightly whispers seeming distracted.

"Jordan," I say to get his attention.

"I'm here, I'm just thinking about how one week ago I was so afraid you were going to reject me when I smelled your scent and realized you were my mate. I'm so glad you're giving us a chance Trish."

I smile from ear to ear at how open he's being about his feelings. It's a breath of fresh air from the guys I had usually ended up with. I love the way Jordan speaks to me, so sweet and gentle.

"I'm glad too. I really am. I can't wait to see where life takes us." So the conversation can end on this perfect note I say, "Bye, Jordan. I'll see you soon."

"Bye, baby."

I send a message to Jordan right after our phone call ends telling him I will meet him in 30 minutes at a cute little cafe a couple block from my house. He quickly messages back, 'You got it babe!' His excitement was flattering.

The late breakfast we had with Jordan was wonderful I convinced him to let me go halfsies on the bill, but he made it clear to me that as soon as we were official he would no longer be letting me do that. He wanted to take care of me in every way. I pretended to give in, but he has another thing coming. I'm a strong independent woman and I will never be dependent on any man. It wouldn't be fair to either of us. Not in this lifetime. But the gesture is still very charming.

A few days pass. Jordan and I don't get to see each other much but we call and text constantly. We are both busy with our separate lives, and we agreed to try to keep things how they were before until we we're ready to complete the mating ritual. He says it's kind of a blessing in disguise because he'll need time to get his pack acquainted with him mating a human. They haven't had a human mated to anyone from their pack in quite some time.

We do have a date tonight though, because it's Tasia's Dad's day with her. I'm so excited to see Jordan. My heart is fluttering, my palms are sweaty, and I'm ready an hour early. I look myself over in the mirror one last time: I've put my hair in beach curls and they lay in tendrils down my back. I have fifties style eyeliner on and mascara to accent my light brown eyes. I'm wearing a deep red lipstick which doesn't look to shabby against my caramel complexion. My dress is what's worrying me, I decided to be brave and wear a black body con dress that hugs my body tight and my signature red pumps. I'm usually too self conscious about all my lady lumps to actually wear this dress and I wind up changing last minute, but if the mate bond is as strong as he said it is. I'll have nothing to worry about and Jordan will find me beautiful anyways. Fingers crossed.
