Deboria
I woke up by someone knocking on my door, I looked at the time and it's just 10 am. I make my way to the door and open it to see Milania there with a big bucket of red roses, at least a hundred of them.
"Good Morning Ms Pessina. This was delivered by Mr Koch this morning and he said that it was for you." Milania says as she hands them to me. I see a note and I open it to see that it was written by Gaige, and it says:
"Green, something really bad came up and I can't take you to the date I planed. I'm sorry, but I promise to make it up to you. Your one and only, Gaige" perfect, he ditches me.
"Thank you Milania but you can throw them away" I say as I put the letter back and hand the flowers to her.
"But Deboria this are wonderful" She says looking at them.
"Not if they came from Gaige" I say going back to bed.
"Deboria I'm sure something really came up, at least let him explain" She says
"I'm going back to sleep Milania" I say, turning around in my bed.
"No you don't," my mother approaches my door. I turn around an see her holding on a box.
"Mom what now?"
"We are going to a family business dinner" She says, handing Milania the box.
"Your stuff is in there and the stylist is here any minute, go take a shower" My mother says before walking out.
"I hate this bullshit, it's Sunday and I want to stay at home and watch my series" I say looking at Milania
"I would love to go and hang out with people, wearing fancy clothes" She says smiling at me.
"Then come with us" I say as I take the box from her and put it on my bed
"I really can't, I have too much thing to do around here"
"Fine, but next time you're going whether you like it or not," I say as looking at her
"Fine"
I make my way to the bathroom and take my time with doing my routine, washing my body with my favorite scrub and putting hair conditioner in. When I walk out I the stylist stands in my room preparing her things. She looks pretty young and has dark long hair.
"You must be Deboria" She takes my hand.
"Yeah, and you are?"
"I'm Selin your new stylist"
"It's nice to meet you, so what are we going to do first"
"Let's start with your hair and then we can do your makeup" She says, taking out the blow dryer.
I take a seat in front of the vanity and she starts do fix with my hair and I see messages from Gaige.
"I expected a message from you a long time ago"
"Don't ignore me"
"Green I know you're reading this"
"Answer me, damn it"
I put my phone away and wonder how he got my phone number and that's when I see Aaliyah walk into the room.
"What are you doing here?" I say turning around.
"Your mom told me to come over and help you get ready" she says as she opens the box my mom left earlier. "Damn this dress is going to show off your curves so perfectly and your tan skin is going to glow in this, everyone will have their eyes on you."
It's an off shoulder dress. A mix of a dark green and blue color, dark turquoise made of silk. The dress falls down to the knees where it has a ruffle, giving it a perfect length.
"Where are you going anyway?"
"I don't know, my mother just said it was some dinner for the family business. I really don't want to go," I say locking myself in the mirror.
"Come on, it can't be that bad" She says, taking out some expensive looking nude stilettos.
"I'm done with your hair and makeup, go put on your clothes because you only have like 15 minutes left".
Gaige
She doesn't answer me, perfect. Now that I had my chance with the girl I've wanted for all those years ignores me again.
"Gaige are you done yet" my mother asks as she peeks into my room.
"Yeah, was trying to do my tie"
"Let me help you" she says, taking the tie from me
"Gaige you know we love you and we're trying to do our best for you and your sister's future, and the union and our business is not simple to handle by yourself"
"When is this wedding?" I ask angry because how simple it is for them to put me into marrying a woman I'll meet today.
"We haven't thought about that, but after what happens today we should make it official as quickly as possible"
"And what happens if this doesn't work out?"
"Gaige she is a lovely girl, beautiful, smart and elegant, now come on we need to go downstairs " She says walking out of the room. I put on my cologne and walk downstairs to find my father all happy.
"Father" I say as I stand in front of him
"Gaige your a grown up man, you're my son and a marriage for the family business is a good start to show that you really deserve to run everything after me"
"I understand" I say, trying my best to convince myself that this will work out I the end.
"Gaige honey, you know if this really is that concerning for you and for the girl, we can call it off" My mother says, smiling at me.
"I'm going upstairs to get my phone" I say making up an excuse to be alone. I walk upstairs and look at my phone, and I see a message from Deboria
"First and last chance" It says, she's talking about our date.
"Give me another chance, I can explain" I send. That's when I hear my parents greeting and laughing with some people. I take a glance at the mirror before walking down stairs.
