That Day

That day, humanity remembered. The fear of their rule... The humiliation of being trapped in a birdcage...

"It's made... A hole in the wall...?"

I remembered it like it was all some bad dream. I ran away with the crowd, stumbling over my feet. I stopped for a second, looking at all of the panic, then someone ran into me. I hit the ground and looked at the open gate where people were flooding in.

"Oh, I'm glad you're safe!", I heard a familiar voice. I saw my mom and dad running to me. "Are you hurt? We have to get out of here, quickly!" My dad said, helping me up. My mom pulled me by the hand as we started running. Then a loud rumbling sound came from the gate, my parents snapped their heads quickly, and they stopped in their tracks.

It all happened so fast, a large piece of rubble from the wall came hurling at us. Without hesitation my dad threw me away from the rock. I fell to the ground again, and everything seemed to fade out for a second. I heard loud screams from many other people as the large rocks hit the ground. I started to crawl towards the boulder that killed my parents. They were crushed and gone forever.

"Can you stand up? Run to the boat!" I heard another voice, but this time it wasn't my mom, it was a soldier. He grabbed me and started running me to the escape boats.

Turning my head, I looked at all of the dust coming from the wall after it was broken. And then I saw it. The glowing eyes of the Armored Titan through all of the dust. It looked menacing, it struck fear in me. I thought to myself,

"Am I gonna die here...?"

I was sitting with my arms hugging my knees on the boat. I looked at all of the people who were here with me, they looked devastated. I probably wasn't any better looking myself. All that went through my mind was one image. Of the Armored Titan's glowing eyes through all of the chaos.

"I'll kill you!" I turned my head and saw a boy standing by the edge of the boat, holding onto the wall. His friends came up to him and stood behind him "There won't be one titan left in the world when I'm through with you!" He yelled.

I looked down to my hand, and balled into a fist. I was right with him.
