After purchasing the snacks I turn around with the tray of snacks and crash into a guy who's wearing a pristine, white T-shirt and unfortunately for him my soda just drenched his shirt as I looked at his face which had a blank expression on it. I then quickly turn around, place the tray on the counter behind me and quickly took some of the napkins provided on the counter.
"I'm so sorry sir" I said as I took the napkin and made an awkward and futile attempt to clean up his shirt which was already drenched and stained with my soda. I know this is a really awkward situation and I should be focused on more important things but God does this man have amazing abs. I was so busy trying to get him cleaned up that I didn't even notice he had a wedding ring on.
"Hey it's ok" he said as he took one of his finger and lifted my chin so that I was staring him in the eye as he wore a warm smile on his face.
"No it's not" I argued as I still kept trying to return his shirt to it's immaculate form but to no avail. I then looked down and then paused and looked back up.
"Hey aren't you that guy that was staring...." I said but was cut off.
"What are you doing!? You haven't even got the snacks yet?" Some woman with blonde hair said from behind him.
"I'm sorry...." he began but she cut him off.
"Nevermind. You never do anything right. I don't even know why I chose you to be my husband" she said as she approached the cashier.
Wait! Did she just say husband? I looked at his hand and sure enough he was wearing a wedding ring.
"I'm sorry I've gotta go" he said as he headed over to his wife and assisted her with the snacks and only a few minutes after did both Zack and Dylan return.
"What's the matter Drew? You look as though you've seen a ghost" he said.
"I'll tell you after the movie ok?" I said.
"Sure. Did you get the snacks?" He asked as I looked back at the tray and everything seemed to be intact excepth the drinks which just fell.
"I'll just need to get the soda. The first set just spilled" I said.
"You're so clumsy Drew" Dylan said as he just giggled and walked off with Zack as I got three more cups of soda and headed inside.
Carter POV
I was heading over to get the snacks and I have to admit I wasn't paying attention when I ran into a guy with the tray spilling his soda all over my pristine white shirt. He then placed his tray on the counter behind him and grabbed a handful of napkins as he began and awkward and futile attempt to clean up the mess he made.
I was enraged at first but that was until I noticed that it's the same guy from the bakery. The one who noticed me staring at him. If anyone was now in an awkward position now it was me but I to maintain my composure and play it cool. Hopefully he doesn't notice me.
I thought that I may not encounter him again but instead I ended up running into to him and in such a short time frame. I may have a lot of money to live comfortably but it's not like I can pay to determine my fate nor pay fate to alter itself. Maybe this is more than a mere coincidence and fate has put this in order to determine my destiny. I mean I may be exaggerating and it could be a coincidence but what are the odds of running into the same guy twice in one day especially if he's a complete stranger.
Although he may be a stranger I don't know but I just feel so at ease with him. He has such a peaceful aura something I wished I could possess.
"Hey it's ok" I said as I took a finger and placed it under his chin and lifted his face so eyes were looking into mines. I also wore a warm smile on my face, indicating to him that it was ok.
"No it's not" he argued as still kept trying to get my shirt back to it's Immaculate form but to no avail. He then paused and looked up at me making my heart beat even faster.
"Hey aren't you that guy that was staring...." He said but was cut off.
"What are you doing!? You haven't even gotten the snacks yet?" My all too "loving" wife said from behind.
"I'm sorry....." I began to say but she cut me off.
"Nevermind. You never do anything right. I don't even know why I chose you to be my husband" she said as she approached the cashier.
The guy then looked at my hand and observed my wedding ring. Wait! Please don't tell me he's gay. I mean I have nothing against gay people and I'm a big LGBT supporter but how awkward would it be if he started hitting on me. I mean he's a sweet guy don't get me wrong but I would have felt terrible turning him down and hurting his feelings but I am married and even if I wasn't I'm NOT gay.
"I'm sorry I've gotta go" I said as I walked off leaving him behind. He looked sort of distant and lost in thought as I glanced back at him one last time before heading inside I just had one question.
What could he possibly be thinking of?
