Chapter 9 - Mature Conversations

Andrew POV

"Carter's Car Insurance!?" Dylan explained.

"Yes Dylan. Now can you please keep it down?" I said as he lowered his voice.

"I'm sorry it's just I'm so happy for you" he said with genuine joy.

"Awww thanks" I responded.

"I wish I could be like you one day" Dylan said with a sad sigh.

"Don't say that. I want you to accomplish more than I did just do your best" I explained to Dylan.

"But you're so perfect. I can't think of anyone I'd rather be my role model other than you" he said with genuine joy that just warmed my heart.

"Awww thanks that's so sweet" I said as I smiled at him.

"I meant every word of it " he said.

"I know" was my casual response.

"So...." He said looking at me expectantly.

"So what?" I asked.

"What about your boss? How do you like him?"
He asked.

"Oh, well he's a nice guy. Believe it or not he was the guy staring at us but I haven't gotten the perfect opportunity to ask about it just yet" I explained.

"Is this also the same guy you were seated next to during the movie?" He asked.

"Yeah" I responded.

Oh my God, Andrew. He so totally hot. You have to make him yours" Dylan said.

"Just because a guy is hot doesn't mean he's the one, Dylan" I said as I rolled my eyes.

"True but again you did say he was a nice guy" Dylan countered.

"Yes but it's not like I've gotten to know him that well" I responded.

"But you'll be working together so you'll have the perfect opportunity" he said.

"He's not gay Dylan" I said giving him a bored look.

"He doesn't have to be gay he can be bi you know" Dylan said trying to make a point.

"Um he has a wife, Dylan" I said as he sighed in defeat.

"You two would've been soooooo cute together" he said.

"You're a weirdo" I said.

"How the hell I'm a weirdo?" He asked.

"Because you just shipped me with a married man and besides what makes you think he'll even fall in love with me even if he was bi" I asked.

"Are you kidding? Let's see you're smart cute and hard-working any guy would be lucky to have you for a husband" he said as I smiled.

"You really mean that?" I asked.

"No I just love saying random things" He said sarcastically.

"Ok ok you don't have to be a sarcastic ass about it" I said as he just giggled.

"You're so cute Drew that it upsets me you don't have a boyfriend. I mean I know you're focused on your studies and becoming someone better but I think it's just unfair that not a single guy has asked you out or even been your boyfriend.

You're such a sweet person and it sickens my soul to see those sweats who cheat on their boyfriends living a long happy life and you have to be lonely it's just not fair. I mean sure you have Zack and I as friends but come on Andrew eventually you're going to need someone who's more than just a friend and I know I may not be serious most of the time but I'm serious about this. You're going to need a guy whether you want to admit it or not. Not just for sexual needs but you need someone who is going to encourage you and support you and all of your goals and dreams and be there for you through thick and thin. Who will never abandon you no matter what the circumstances. He said and I couldn't help but believe what he was saying to me. It was actually so true and for once in my life I actually took him seriously I always thought Dylan was just an immature little boy but he proved me wrong today. He has matured a lot since he started dating Zac and although I don't agree with the idea of a 16 year old dating a 24 year old the both of them seem happy and if Dylan is happy that I'm happy to and besides I trust that but as for Dylan he's going to have a hard time explaining this to his father if he ever found out.

Well Dylan, I I must say that statement you just made was pretty mature of you I've always looked at you as an immature little boy who can't possibly take anything seriously but to be quite honest you really matured since you started dating Zack. I said as he smiled widely at the statement.

Aww that's such a sweet thing to say. He said as he hugged me and kissed my cheek.

But seriously though, You've got a long road ahead. I said.

What do you mean?. He asked.

Well, eventually your father is going to have to know about this relationship and if you ask me he's soooooo overprotective of you that you'll probably be grounded for life and Zack is going to be Six Feet Under. I explained.

Don't worry about me Drew I'll handle it no matter how tough it gets and I know Zack will be there to support me Dylan said with a smile.

And more than anyone else I'll be here to support you too. I said as he smiled and hugged me again.

And that's why I love you bro. He responded.

Well at least faith has been kind to me for allowing amazing people such as Dylan exact to be in my life because those are the two people who really believe in me and I guess Dylan is right. Eventually I'm going to need someone who can be more than just a friend but I guess I'll have to sit back and see what fate has in-store for me.
