Aaron's POV:
She was so angry with me. How was I supposed to change her heart? She was beyond furious. I knew I was not answering her questions and this was pissing her off but I had no choice. This was not the right time to tell her.
"Huh? Are you stupid or what? You kidnapped me and my sister? Now you want me to stay here for some shitty reason, which by the way, you're not even bothering to tell me," she snarled, mentally killing me with her eyes. Her words stabbed my heart. I was so miserable because of all the mess that I had unintentionally created when all I wanted was to hold my dear mate in my arms.
How dare she talk about our mate bond like that? My love is not shit. How can she say such a thing? Rage suddenly hit me and I lost my cool.
"This is not for a shitty reason," I bellowed. "You are supposed to be here! You are meant to be here with me!"
She looked momentarily confused and slightly scared. I guess an angry Aaron is not a very charming Aaron. Suddenly, her eyes dipped and her body swayed slightly. Before I could comprehend what was happening, she was already falling. I caught her limp body before it hit the floor.
My heart chilled at the sight of her. I shook her gently and called out her name but she wouldn't respond. By now I was panicked enough to turn the whole palace upside down. Why isn't she responding?
I carried her bridal style, hollering at the top of my lungs for the guards. As soon as they appeared I ordered them to call the witch doctor and rushed her to my room. I laid her on my bed and the doctor finally arrived after 10 minutes or so I guess. I don't know how long exactly because I had been too busy worrying for her. How can a person lose consciousness that easily?
When the doctor was done examining her, he straightened up and gave me a reassuring smile.
"There is nothing to worry about. She fainted because of weakness. She hasn't been fed for a long time."
Hasn't fed for a long time? I was already anxious enough about her starving herself when the doctor further added. "Also," he paused, hesitantly before continuing. "There is a wound behind her head. I have treated it so you need not worry."
At the mention of the wound, my head snapped towards the guard who had been with me last night. His expression changed to one of fear and anxiety. My hands clenched into fists and I think the vein in my neck was popping out dangerously. He hurt her? I watched as he sputtered under my furious glare.
"S-sorry, Prince Aaron! B-but we had to knock her out to get her sister."
Rage coursed through my veins. The darkness was already chewing at the edges of my heart and before I could clutch onto my sanity, my eyes turned a bloody red color and my fangs came out dangerously. My hands fisted and I punched him across the face. He was thrown feet away and slammed into the wall, leaving a huge hole at the place. He slid to the floor, bleeding and unconscious.
How dare he hurt my mate?!
Two other guards came running into the room and grabbed him.
"Throw that bastard into the dungeons!" I yelled. They began to drag him away before I could lose my cool even further.
When I looked back at Alice, I was met with a mesmerizing pair of blue eyes. She had woken up.*.*.*.*.*.*.*.*
Alice's POV:
I was feeling light-headed and my eyes were heavy. It was like I had swallowed a cloud. But the softness I felt was so awesome! My muscles felt so relaxed and it was as if I had fallen asleep on the beach. The only thing interrupting my pretty slumber was this annoying noise in the background. Somebody was yelling so bad.
When I opened my eyes, I saw the vampire leader guy standing inside the room with one of his guards. I squinted to look closely and recognized him. It was the guy who had knocked me out last night! The vampire leader was standing near the bed, his back to me. The guard was cowering in fear. Not as confident as you were that night, eh? What are they talking about though? Why does he look like he's about to wet himself?
"S-sorry, Prince Aaron! B-but we had to knock her out to get her sister," he sputtered.
My eyes went wide with shock. Prince? Huh?! So the handsome vampire leader is a prince and his name is 'Aaron'. Stop it already, Alice! He kidnapped you!
While I was having a mental battle, a loud thud snapped me back to reality and I saw the guard lying on the floor, a huge hole in the wall above his bleeding head. Ouch.
Two more men, in uniforms, came running in and pulled the unconscious guard off the floor.
"Throw that bastard into the dungeons!" The prince said in a booming voice. The guards didn't waste another second and dragged him out of the room.
Why is he mad? Aren't those people his loyal servants? What could they have done wrong? Is he possibly mad because of what they did to me? And why am I lying on a bed inside this very fancy-looking room?
My head began to ache from all the questions so I closed my eyes once to calm myself down. When I opened them again, the prince leader guy was looking straight at me. And he looked worried.
I didn't even have the time to blink and he was standing by my side. He bent to my level and placed his hand gently on my head.
"Are you okay?" Concern was evident in his voice. What the....? Isn't he supposed to be my kidnapper? Then why is he so concerned for me? Is that 'I'm worried about my food before I eat it' kind of look? My eyes locked with his gorgeous ones as if my soul was trapped in them. And no, it wasn't a predator's worried look. It was genuine concern.
For the first time, I observed how gorgeous his face actually was. Pale white but the complexion went well with his handsome face, black messy hair, and perfect thin lips. I hadn't realized that I was checking him out. But I couldn't help it either! He had a face anyone would turn to look at at least twice before passing on. It seemed that he had realized it though because he stepped back and wore that cold expression back on his face.
"Tonight you can stay in my room. Tomorrow your room will be shown to you," he spoke authoritatively.
My eyebrows furrowed. I don't want to stay in your stinking room! I don't want to even be in your house! But I didn't yell that out loud. He already looked so mad and I didn't want him yelling in my face with this headache. As he left the room, closing the door behind him, I couldn't help but wonder about that concern he'd just shown me.
What were those emotions in his eyes?
