Alexandra Martinez was one hell of a cop and was now Francis' new partner. She was putting things on the big empty desk when someone came over and moved her box to a much smaller desk. "Only the best can sit there." Francis told her as he went over to his own desk, which was about the size of the one he had put her things on. "Excuse me?" She asked  raising a dark brow.

"You heard me." He said, propping his feet up. "Last I checked, I was the best, thats why I was assigned to be your partner." She said before muttering curses in Spanish under her breath. "You're not as good as Michaels. Not even I am as good as Michaels." Francis said. She smirked, "Is he your boyfriend or something? Just because you worship his dick doesn't make him the best." Francis pointed to the Wall of Greats. "Viviana Michaels, the best HPD has ever had."

Alexandra crossed her arms, "If she's so good, where is she?" Francis leaned back in his chair, "She retired. Right now she's taking a vacation with her fiances. She is a legend and one hell of a woman." Alexandra studied the photo then looked back at Francis, "She looks young, why'd she retire?" Francis smiled, "Because a little bit ago she was court ordered to go on a final mission for the Marine Core. Of course the mission was faked, the terrorists paid the judge for the order because they wanted her dead. They were the ones who ended up killed instead. When she came back Chief offered her retirement because she has been to hell and back serving not only our country but Hinsboro. She has taken down many serial killers in such a short amount of time. So again, only the best of the best gets to sit there."

"Speaking of the best, I need the best to tell me where they're at with catching Maxis." Chief Zeke startled Francis into standing up with a file in his hand. "I've done checks on all known associates, none have seen or spoken to them. Checked phones, emails, and social media nothing between them since before he went to prison." He showed him a picture of Bridget, "But cameras have seen them together."

Chief Zeke nodded, "What about his parents?" Francis nodded, "Found many calls to a burn phone, most likely to their son." Alexandra looked at the file over his shoulder. "What about his brother?" "Safe house." "Vacation." Francis and Zeke answered simultaneously.

They shared a look then tried answering at the same time again except this time their answers were swapped. "I get it, it's classified." Alexandra said taking a file out of his hands. "Can we pull the parents into interrogation?" "Can't, father is the Mayor. It'll cause a whole lot of issues.  At least until he loses his current campaign." Chief Zeke explained to her.

"What was he arrested for to begin with?" She asked them. "Murder and prostituting women. His brother had caught him before he could clean up the woman he killed. Brother ran and called the cops. Maxis was an idiot and chased after his brother instead of cleaning up." Alexandra nodded, "I'll contact a couple of people who owe me favors." She sat down at the small desk and picked up the phone. When Francis walked away she looked at the large desk then looked at the photo on the wall. She saw a strong dedicated woman. Getting to work with a new air about her she began to track down Maxis.

After working all day she went back to her studio apartment where her black cat Bach laid on her baby grand piano. Curiosity pushed her to her laptop. Her fingers flew over the keyboard typing in Viviana Michaels. Dozens of articles came up from all over the world from when she was a a Marine sniper to the many cases she solved as a Detective. Alexandra stayed up for hours reading each article, learning about the woman who had the large desk. Bach came and rubbed his face against her's. "I want to be her when I grow up." She told him. He sneezed in her face as his reply and she rolled her eyes as she wiped herself clean.

Growing up teachers and her parents always asked her what did she want to be when she grew up. She always answered as a doctor, lawyer, doctor the usual. Now she wants to be like Viviana Michaels. She's strong, selfless, determined, and always did the right thing. That's what she wants to be.

Her phone began to ring as she was getting ready for bed. "You've got Martinez." She said when she answered. "So I've got a lead on your target." Henry, a friend of hers who works for the FBI. "We know no one has responded to the Bolo you put out so we decided to put one of our own out. We got a hit. He's been seen meeting with his mother every Tuesday for dinner Lumiere." Tuesday was in three days Alexandra noted. "Thank you Henry." She said then hung up.

The next morning she told Francis of the tip and they began to set up a stake out for that day at the restaurant. Hopefully things go right and they can come home, Francis thought, eyes going over to the wall.
