"This is ridiculous. They're going to know." Nancy laughed once she heard the game plan.

"Not if we're careful."

"What have we got to lose?" Victoria chipped in.

"Well, your freedom for one."

"They're married. It shouldn't be like this in the first place." Arthur pointed out. Nancy sighed.

"Fine. Fine! But if something goes wrong... Or if someone gets hurt..."

"Then we'll blame ourselves." Victoria finished. Nancy sighed.

"I'll help with Aurora as much as I can, you know she's like a daughter to me too or a beloved niece... But just be careful, Vicky please." Nancy pleaded.

"Of course we will," Victoria promised.

Victoria dropped off Aurora at nursery the next day as planned. Arthur had a car waiting. He had just dropped off Daisy and Nancy. The car was not Arthur's usual. It was a black BMW convertible that she had never seen before. It had limousine tinted windows and leather seats. It looked stylish and fast. Quite fast.

"What on Earth is this?" Victoria laughed as she climbed in. Nancy watched them drive off, standing on the pavement by the nursery centre. Her brows were furrowed in her disapproval but there was no time to think upon that.

The car was indeed fast as they sped down main roads.

"Your father's car. It's on loan. He loves our plan. Your mother didn't know what to say."

"So what's the plan?"

"We need to kit out in disguises and get everything we need. We're going to look very different tomorrow."

"So stage one of getting Nathan back. Find out exactly what Lillian and Timothy are feeding Nath. We need to know because Lillian hasn't been returning my calls." Victoria said.

"This feels like we're in a spy movie." Arthur laughed. The sun broke through a cloud and Arthur pressed a button and the convertible's top came rolling down smoothly. The breeze ran through their hair and it felt so good to be doing something that Victoria felt her heart be lighter than it ever had.

The higher shopping centre was for the more... Elite of clients. The people who could afford a personal shopper and the most expensive of clothes. This was the business and the luxury part. A part of town which Lillian was very familiar with and a part which Victoria had been at once... To get her wedding dress.

Arthur parked the car outside a hairdresser. He opened the glove box and took out an envelope. It was black with silver writing.

"Is this it?"

"This is it. Nathan and yourself have a very loyal and confused friend called Lola and Gregory. Do you remember them?" Arthur asked. Victoria rolled her eyes.

"Of course. They were our closest friends in university. Lola used to date, Nathan. It wasn't for long though."

"Well I've been making some calls, trying to get into what was happening about Nathan and I came across Lola. Lola is happily married but she had a quiet wedding to Gregory so Nathan's parents didn't know about it. They still haven't said anything but they did mention a ball. An annual charity event. Lola had been invited but she's heavily pregnant with twins. This is the invite."

Victoria opened the envelope to reveal the black card in silver italics. It asked for the presence of the beloved guest to attend the charity event and a plus one but masks were required.

"This is too easy. Why masks?" Victoria asked as she put the invite back into the glove box.

"Maybe to ease Nathan back into the high life and not have him crowded. I don't know. But Lola was all too willing to give this to us." Arthur smiled absentmindedly.
