Victoria felt so much better out of the gown, out of the boiling wig and after a shower the next day. Aurora went to nursery. Victoria then went to clean the house. She was halfway through scrubbing the bath when the home phone rang. Victoria quickly dashed down the stairs, checking the clock. It was only twelve.
"Hello, Victoria speaking?"
"Vick, it's Nancy."
"What's up?"
"Check into the camera for the entranceway. Quickly."
"When did Arthur plant that camera?" Victoria asked as she quickly went to the kitchen and loaded up the laptop.
"On his way out," Nancy replied. Victoria put the phone on speaker and clicked on the right software and the right camera. It had been dropped into a pot plant and wasn't a fabulous sight but showed Lillian, Timothy and Nathan. Lillian and Timothy were in their normal smart clothes but Nathan was in a jogging suit.
"You are unbelievable!" Nathan was shouting.
"Nathan, we're doing what's best for you!" Lillian shouted back.
"What's best for me is to let me go! I don't want to be here anymore! I'm sick of this! This isn't my life! I want my old life back!"
"You don't even know what your old life is! How can you want that back?!"
"I don't want this!" Nathan walked out. Timothy opened his mouth to say something to Lillian but she walked away too. Timothy stayed there for a minute then went up the staircase.
"What was that about?" Victoria asked Nancy.
"Seems like Nathan's had enough of his parents being on top of him all the time. He was muttering in his bedroom for a while about being independent and being forced all the time."
"Well... Damn. Any input on what's been happening?"
"Timothy has plans to invite Nathan to the office again to shadow and be mentored and hopefully go back to his business. Lillian hasn't said anything much but she isn't talking about anything to do with the present."
"So when do we discuss the next part of the plan?"
"In a week according to Arthur."
The next week was filled with Victoria and Nancy keeping watch over the cameras. Timothy was trying to distract Nathan with work which Nathan accepted. It was something he had lived with his whole life. Meanwhile, Lillian was arguing with everyone. She argued with Nathan about how to live his life. Lillian wanted him to meet with friends and Nathan didn't want to. He was becoming quite anti-social. Lillian was then arguing with Timothy over what exactly Nathan should be told. It was quite the unhappy household and Lillian was very outspoken, much to Victoria's disgust. Timothy encouraged Nathan to know about Victoria and Aurora, Lillian wanted to take Nathan's life one year at a time, starting with his university friends. Lillian constantly said about how Victoria was a golddigger and so forth. Honestly, by the end of the the week, Victoria had enough.
It was Friday and Arthur's day off. Victoria was round at the Miller household. Aurora and Daisy were not at nursery today so all three adults were a bit distracted but they decided on the plan together.
"Tomorrow, Nathan is going to a cafe. He goes there every morning, so he's said in the bedroom. You have to be there." Arthur instructed.
"He took me there on one of our dates. He knows the staff by heart." Victoria said.
"Fingers crossed, he'll make the first step and if not you will have to," Arthur told her.
"Okay."
"Fingers crossed," Nancy said again, taking Victoria's hand and giving it a squeeze. Victoria took a deep breath and placed a hand on her bump.
"Fingers crossed." She repeated.
