Back Story: 3rd Person POV
You were walking around with Natsu in the woods talking with him,
"Big bro Natsu, where are we going?" (Yeah, Big Bro, get used to it)
"Dunno, somewhere with food" He said with a hint of concern in his obsidian eyes. You continued walking until you both heard voices behind a few trees. Sneaking carefully bye trying not to get noticed you couldn't help but peak at the source of the voices. You froze at the sight of the creatures talking.
One of them shuffled over to the bush were you and Natsu were hiding. You couldn't hold it back any more, you and Natsu screamed at the same time, "Dragon!!!!!!!!"
Before you knew it the white sleek dragon in front of you two snatched you up and held you above its mouth.

The dragon holding you spoke in a gentle yet gruff female voice "I am the Soul dragon, Soulstice, who are you?"
(Get it Soul-Stice like a solstice? No, fine I'll go take my puns somewhere else)
You could feel her icy breath on your now open toes, as your shoes had fallen of. It sent a chill up your spine and you looked to your brothers face, he was stricken stiff like a baord in dragon claws. You spoke in the place of your frozen brother.
"Eh, w-were two orphans wondering in the woods..."
Before you could continue Natsu shot back to the real world and realized you speaking. He took over the role of 'negotiator for your lives' from you.
"We didn't mean to intrude, we can leave if you like?" He was about ready to walk away after speaking.
Soulstice looked at the red dragon sitting next to her. He whispered something in her ear so quiet you and Natsu couldn't hear.
The red dragon looked back at you two and said,
"I am Igneel, the ruler of Fire Dragons and this is my friend Soulstice, the Soul Dragon. We have decided to take pity on you, and take you in to teach you Dragon Slayer magic. Since I'm the ruler hear I'll choose who I want to teach first." You could hear Soulstice sigh at Igneel's words.
She set you two down almost knocking you over in the process. The red dragon's beady eyes bore into both of your guy's hearts, searching for an answer to his inquiry. He sat silently until opening his mouth to state his choice.
"I'll train the boy, he seems to be a very rowdy soul much like myself."
Soulstice turned to you speaking,
"I guess I'll train you then little girl." Soulstice starred at you examining your dosile soul. Natsu pouted in front of Igneel, he wanted to be trained by the cool Soul Dragon but instead the average fire dragon chose him.
"I believe its getting late, shall we head to bed?" You and Natsu stared at the white dragon wondering what she meant as 'bed'. The dragons turned around without saying a word to you children. Not knowing what to do you two followed the dragons to what seemed like a cliff. You two stopped at a cave going into the cliff when the dragons turned around,
"You two can sleep inside the cave while me and Soulstice sleep outside to protect you from the weather and other creatures of the dark." Igneel said as he turned his head to point into the cave.
You had a hard time sleeping, even curling up in Soulstice's tail didn't help, It might have even made you colder. Looking over at Natsu, all happy in his warm dragon tail, just made you smile and put you to sleep. The next morning was the start of your training. There was a lot of moping and struggles but after the first couple of weeks you and Natsu got the routine down to an art.
The next few years were tough with dragons as parents. With your awesome soul dragon slayer magic you could; do the basics, soul dragon wing attack, breath, punch, etc. but your power was more of an invisible force. You could also turn into a soul form and go through walls and become invisible yourself, you could become lightweight and fly anywhere, posses objects (you aren't skilled enough to posses people). And taking away almost all your magic energy................ you could steal someone else's soul.
One day, once training was done you went for a hunt in the woods near your cave. A huge storm came while you were still out there. Obviously this wasn't the first storm you had in the forest alone so you knew what to do. You hid under a tree waiting the storm out. You weren't worried about anyone since they had been through storms too, but this time was different.
You got back to a abnormally quiet camp. You looked all around for your older brother natsu but he was no where in sight. Surely one dragon would be at home, and you can't miss one of those guys, but no one was there. Starting to lose hope you heard a sound coming from the trees to your left hoping it was family. It was indeed family, but they weren't there long. Soaring over head was Igneel and Soulstice, flying, flying, flying away from you. You fell to your knees, tears pricked your eyes. You never cried, not until then. You could only see the opal colored dragon scales Soulstice left behind, scattered all around you. Yelling all your family's names, grief running through your bones, you screamed. "Igneel! Soulstice!" *sniffle* "Natsu!" *quietly* "were are you guys" they had all left.

BTW I would totally be sardonix's type from Steven universe. That's not my birthstone though.
