As I sit on the bench, I hear footsteps running towards me. I didn't look up. I knew it was you.

"Hi."

I looked up a smiled.

"Hi Riley."

"I have a present for you." you said with a smirk on your face.

"Pres-?"

You laid a wrapped gift softly in my hands. The present had been wrapped in Christmas wrapping paper, which I loved. I started to tear off the wrapping paper. It was a new notebook, well, a sketchbook. I no longer had to draw in that tiny little notebook that was almost completely full.

I smiled. I was very happy that you even thought about getting me something, you're sweet. I wasn't much of a hug person, or a talk person, or a people person for that matter. I was definitely an introvert.

"Oh my god, thank you! I have been wanting one of these for so long."

I hugged you.

You were very shocked by this.

I pulled away after a long hug just in time to witness the shock on your face.

"What?"

"You hugged me."

"Uh huh"

"You've never hugged me."

"Well, I guess I have now, haven't I?" I said smiling.

You playfully punched my shoulder laughing.

"You wanna come to my house?" you said enthusiastically.

After about 30 seconds or so if me not answering, you said "you can trust me don't worry, I'm not an ax-murderer."

"How do I know you aren't lying?"

"Well, I guess you don't."

"Sure." I said quietly.

We walked a good 4 blocks down before reaching your street. You lived in a nice subdivision in a nice house. As soon as you opened the front door, your mom was standing there. "Hi Riley, and who is this?"

"Just a friend." You said plainly to your mom.

"What is this friend's name?"

You looked over at me, and looked back at your mom.

"She would prefer not to say."

"And why is that?"

"I don't even know her name mom. She doesn't talk much."

"Alright alright then." said your mom walking away.

You looked over at me again and smiled. You pointed up the stairs, "shall we?"

"We shall."

We sat in her room and watched movies and had deep conversations. I got a text from my mom.

"Hey, where are you?"

"I'm at a friends house."

You were looking at my phone while I was texting, "do you want to stay the night?" you questioned.

"Sure."

I asked my mom if I could stay at a friends house, she said yes of course. She was always trying to get me to make friends because she knew that I didn't have any and that I was just lonely. So she was happy that I was spending the night with someone.

"Oh shoot. You don't have any other clothes." you said laughing.

"Oh, that's okay."

You walked over to your closet, looked around for a second and grabbed an oversized shirt, which was a perfect fit on me, because of how much taller I was than you.

We laid back down on your bed. Your shirt smelled like you. You always smelled like...you. You fell asleep at about 2 in the morning. I couldn't fall asleep, I kept thinking about you. I thought about how we started a friendship, solely based on not talking, and you actually had the patience to be my friend.
