"Good mor-" Jimin stopped himself seeing you stoic expression as you seated yourself in the front seat next to him.
"Guess not."
Coincidence or not Jimin happened to study at the same campus as yours, even same class. He moved to Seoul with Hani, since you were in the same class he would pick you up at the morning. You both studied medicine to became doctors. It was his freshman year and your second first year since you dropped out last winter.
"I might became your first patient when we graduate." You knocked your head on the window.
"My car might need first aid before that."
"Sorry..." you sat up straight, meeting him with apologetic eyes.
"Aren't you running out of topics? How can you fight every single breath?" You couldn't agree more, you could probably write a novel thicker than a dictionary of the fights you've been running.
"My lifeeeee..." you sighed deep, shutting your eyes close.
Your phone vibrated out of a sudden, bringing upon a slight frown on your already pissed expression. Jimin heard it too.
"Who is it?" Jimin asked, noticing your change.
"Taehyung?"
You shook your head in reply, knowing the text wasn't from Taehyung. He didn't have your number.
You sort of knew who the text was from. You would regularly receive about five messages a day, sometimes more.
Whenever you called the number the person wouldn't pick up.You didn't know how they got your number in the first place. You never texted back after telling the person to stop texting you.
"Who is it?" Jimin asked but didn't get an answer.
Jimin pulled the car over sensing something was definitely wrong with your face. He grabbed the phone from you, you didn't react just sat as an inflated boat, letting him do what he wanted.
He read the texts exchanged between you the unknown number. Lines deepened the more he read. Your only reply was ten days ago saying stop texting me, while the person had sent over 100 messages.
Jimin dialled the number, but as usual the call was cut off. His expression said it all, he was angry and mad.
"How long had you received those texts? Why didn't you tell me?!" He yelled.
"I-I-"
"You should've reported this Seori! How come you've become so stupid after getting married?!?" This was the second time in life Jimin yelled at you. You weren't familiar with it.
"I thought ignoring the texts would solve it..."
"When will you abandon that stupid thought?" He gave you the look.
"I'll tell Hani!" you grabbed his hand shaking your head in denial.
"No, I'll deal with this I promise." You begged, rubbing your hands. He looked at you with sharp eyes for a moment hesitating whether to trust you or not.
"You better keep your word." You nodded fast. It was strange how things came to the point of being awkward sharing things with Hani when she never kept a secret from you. Dismissing the thoughts of guilt you shook your head then looked at Jimin with narrowed eyes.
"Agrrr-!" He groaned light as you punched his arm.
"What was that for?!?"
"For you calling me stupid!"
When the pain on his arm soothed the drive continued and you arrived to campus.
You had your classes and when school was over, you'll wait for him in front of the campus building as he went to pick up the car. He waved at you with a smiling face, you shook your head and mirrored his act. As Jimin just left a hand grabbed your shoulder from behind making you flinch slightly.
"He didn't look like Taehyung?" Your eyes grew wide, realising who the voice belonged to.
"EOM-EOM-EOMEONI?!?"
"Glad to see you too?" She hugged you with a wide smile, despite seeing your jaw dropping expression. You didn't expect to see your mother-in-law here, since she was supposed to be on a business trip.
"How is it starting in school again?" She broke the hug glancing at you. You raised your head a tad, awkwardly to meet her eyes.
"It's great.. really great." You tugged a strain of hair behind your ear smiling ever so awkward.
"I've tried to call Taehyung earlier at the airport but the call didn't get through. So I thought to come and pick you up instead!" She chirped while you just trying to pull yourself together.
"Dear, are you okay?"
"Y-y-y-es." You stuttered.
"I just remembered that Taehyung got a new number, that's probably why you can't reach him." You explained. You didn't even get to give him the phone you found as he already had a new on his own.
"Ahh really," she said. "then call him and say he doesn't have to pick you up, I'll fetch you home, I was thinking of going to see him too." She said assuming that you were waiting for Taehyung, you made a blank face didn't know what to do.
"Or is he already on his way?" She added glancing at the passing cars.
Of course not he didn't even know what school you were attending.
"I'll... call him." You said then grabbed the phone from your back pocket. The problem is you didn't have Taehyung's number.
A light turned in your head and you decided to call Hani, since they probably still was together.
"Seori?" Hani answered.
"Hi," You said awkwardly distancing yourself a bit from your mother-in-law, not wanting her to hear the conversation.
"Taehyung, you don't have to pick me up, I'll get home with Eomma." You said empathising the last word.
"... Taehyung were you supposed to fetch Seori?"
"Why the hell should I do that?"
"Seori, Taehyung said he didn't say that." Hani said. You facepalmed yourself, your silly best friend didn't even get the key point of the context. Now you just hoped they weren't at home.
"Did you left home?" You asked nervously, feeling a couple of eyes trailing you.
"Wait, what are you talking about? Why did you call me Taehyung just now?" Hani said confused.
"You are not at home right?" You said anxiously.
"Ye- Of course I'm home, you think I'll come to get you?" Taehyung cut Hani's sentence and then ended the call. You called again but the phone was turned off. You mother-in-law looked at you with a bright smile which you returned with a sad one.
"Let's go sweetheart."
