Master Makarov was in deep worry. His mind was still shaken by Laxus’s rebellion. To top it all Laxus had threatened to hold the citizens of Fiore as clearly Evergreen’s curse on the girls had failed.

By using the thunder palace Laxus held the city hostage to his erratic whims of irrational consequences.  If Makarov failed to name Laxus as his successor then the lives of the citizens will be forfeit.

‘It’s now up to them….Let’s hope Natsu and Gajeel be able to defeat him…’ Makarov thought.

With his mind pondering about the fight, Makarov glanced at the runes. He looked at them in disbelief. As far as he knew there were only three fairies left in the games-Mystogan, Natsu and Gajeel.

Since clearly Erza left the fight to disrupt the orbs which served as armament’s to Laxus’s thunder palace thus neutralising the hostage crisis. But the runes said that there are four. ‘It could be possible that the remaining members could have joined to fight Laxus….But that can’t be right, knowing my guild members they would prefer to save the citizens than join the battle. Who can it be?’, he pondered.

Makarov decided to leave the rune dilemma aside and began preparing for the future consequences. He left for his room, where the communication lacrimas were kept.

Makarov knew that Freed’s spells can never interfere with communication Lacrima’s, especially the Magic Council’s. With this thought in mind he decided to bring the council in. He knew that with the Thunder Palace out of equation, Laxus will definitely use the fairy Law. Humans in desperation will try to use their full potential to satisfy their needs, thus endangering the lives of others. He had to call the Council, better to face the impositions of the council than to let the citizens of Fiore fall prey to the undetermined game of chance where who knew what could happen. He grabbed hold of a lacrima, and tried to communicate with Org, a prominent council member.

Before he could do so a familiar voice went through his mind, ‘Do no such deed master, have faith in them…’Hearing the voice Makarov dropped the Lacrima. Now that he thought about it, it was strangely familiar like a child’s voice, which is sweet to hear and filled with hope. Somehow his delusions of practicality had disappeared and his mind was still filled with some hope.

Meanwhile, a mysterious figure watches over the city of Magnolia. Covered in a cloak, only  the long dark hair gives her identity away. Muttering certain spells, the figure nods to herself as if something had been taken care of. She makes her way towards the Kardia Cathedral, where the battle of conflicting fates was  in place. The Cathedral was nostalgic for her. A place where her new bonds were formed and she discovered a new meaning to happiness. With nostalgia in her mind she reached the Cathedral. ‘This is where I must protect my bonds’; she thought and went inside through its vast doors.

Kardia Cathedral was three centuries old, built during the Great War. The way to the chapel was decorated with stained glass windows. Each depicted the story of the Great War. On one was King Rufus the Lion hearted who merged the three states of Aragon, Castile and Granada as one nation after three centuries of war finding the nation of Fiore. To mark his deed in history, the holy church ordered for a great Cathedral to be built where he ended the war, and laid foundation to the country of Fiore, the city of Magnolia. ‘Ironically, it was the city where he was born, and of course the capital of the kingdom of Granada, a kingdom which never wished for unity’, she thought. Moving across the cathedral she rushed to the chapel where the battle was taking place. Natsu and Gajeel were fighting Laxus together. Smiling to herself the mysterious woman, whispered certain spells, while positioning herself at the pillared balcony which overlooked the battle.

She whispered the spells as if they were words of a prayer, but if heard closely they were like a song, a song which reaches the heart and soul. While she whispered the enchantments, Natsu and Gajeel agree to combine their powers and attack Laxus with a fusion of their dragon Roars. On the signal both roar together, “Fire Dragon's Roar!!!” and “Iron Dragon’s Roar!!”  ‘Technically a dragon’s roar is an indication of a summoning technique, a traditional way of dragons to summon one another. But in case of a dragon slayer it acts like a summoning command for their respective elements to enact a simple summon.’ the figure thought.

The attack had no effect on Laxus. He was unscathed after the combined attack. “How could this be!?”, exclaimed Natsu in horror.

“Your foolishness never fails to surprise me Natsu. Didn’t your Igneel ever teach you that Lightning is capable of negating fire? Or perhaps Iron is a good conductor of electricity?”,Laxus said in a mocking drawl. “It’s high time I end this act now.” Having said so Laxus posed himself for initiating the Fairy Law.
