Chapter-2 Ceaseless Nostalgia

“No! I do not believe you! There is no way that you can use it!”, Natsu shouted in despair. Things were not going in favour of Fairy Tail. The combined Dragon Roar had failed. Laxus was no longer in a mood to entertain the two dragon slayers. It was high time that he ended this little game. “Let the lives of these citizens be forfeit. All I care about is to rebuild my guild and establish its great reputation.”, Laxus replied out to Natsu. “Besides weaklings like you have no right to be members of Fairy Tail. This weakness has destroyed our guild. Fairy Tail must change for good. This would be a new beginning for my guild” he added. Natsu cried out in disgust, “You are desperate. You don’t care for your comrade’s lives, you don’t care about your guild, you don’t care about the lives of the citizens either, you only care about yourself and the position of Guild Master. And the disgusting part is that you don’t understand or respect that position. If you did, then you would have given thought to the old man’s words. You would not have pained your comrades and you would not have, in the blink of an eye, destroyed everything that grandfather stood for.  You sicken me.” In a calm tone Natsu then said, “That’s why I will never give up no matter what happens. I will fight for the sake of the bonds that I made and the honour of this guild. For the sake of Fairy Tail, I will fight all out and defeat you.” Laxus gave out a mocking laughter. “So the Dragon Slayer thinks that he can defeat me. I have always defeated you. Just like always you will fall. And talking about comrades. Comrades who are weak and let you down are of no use to my guild. The strongest have the world at their feet not the weak. This guild is mine!!!” Laxus shouted out in rage.

‘This cannot be happening. He is using the Fairy law. I never thought it would come to this. Laxus must be stopped.’ the mysterious woman thought. She left for the direction of the bell tower. Her thoughts paced forth as if they knew what the outcome of the fight was. Meanwhile in the chapel below, Natsu was battling it out with Laxus. His repetitive Dragon Slayer attacks were of no effect on Laxus. Natsu was on the ground. He was badly beaten up. Laxus’s thunder attacks had resulted in burns over his body.

Laxus was now desperate. He could not allow himself to be overpowered by the reinforcements arriving from the guild. By then Erza and the others had obliterated the thunder palace. This was no good. It looked like he had to use the Fairy Law. ‘With Fairy Law’s activation, all these useless guild members will be obliterated.’, thought Laxus. He posed himself for the Fairy Law. It was an ancient spell which uses extremely destructive light to destroy everyone the caster considers as an enemy. In short it eliminates existences which are of harm to the caster. ‘The trick is to make the caster think that the existences around him are not harmful or dangerous. Another trick could be to trick or alter the spell mechanism to believe that the existences around it are of the same element, that is light.’, the mysterious woman thought. “I can use the bell tower to cast the spell. As it’s in a high position and is located in the centre of the city it will do its work without any hindrance.” The figure murmured to herself. She climbed the last stair and reached the balcony where the bell was hung. From there she could see the city of Magnolia. Vast and sprawling the city reminded her of the bonds she created in this city. Bonds which were pleasant and delightful to remember. “This is where I must protect my bonds. I must fight to honour and protect them and show that they were meaningful to my life.” She spoke to herself softly yet with certain firmness in her voice.
