Faye had parted ways with Missy, heading towards her locker the girl having no idea where Nas had gone. She started looking through her locker for her English notes to use in lesson when a deeply annoying voice stopped her right in her tracks.

"Harvey, looking good sweetcheeks"

Faye sighed loudly before turning towards the one and only; Cory Wilson who stood beside her with a smirk plastered onto his freckled face.

"When do I not"

"Oo, someone got a new attitude since last time I saw you", he replied moving closer to the girl towering over her slightly.

"I got a lot of new things since the last time I saw you", she smirked tilting her head to right slightly. Cory then bending down to her ear.

"Don't worry, I noticed", he whispered before pulling back and looking the girl up and down, his eyes lingering on her chest.

"Hm no wonder you're called the fuckboy of Ackley"

"Fuckboys are guys that can't get the girl they want so they go for the easier options instead", he stated licking his lips before looking intensely into Faye's eyes.

"Who's caught your eye then Wilson"

"Wouldn't you like to know", he smirked before turning around to leave the girl at her locker once again.

"Dickhead, we both have the same class, could have walked me", she muttered before grabbing her English notes and slamming her locker, making her way to her next class.

Faye had decided that for this upcoming year she would actually try to get good grades and mess about a little less as due to her mother not owning a penny to her name, Faye knew if she wanted to get by in life she'd have to work hard to get a decent job

She had managed to ignore all of Cory's failed attempts to start a conversation with her and he eventually gave up coming to the realisation that Faye actually did want to do work, giving him no other choice but to try and do work too as his only form of entertainment was currently mute.

A loud voice then came from the speakers placed in the corner of the room.

"Good morning, students, Year 11, 12 and 13 assembly in the main hall will commence in ten minutes."

Faye groaned loudly before putting her head on the table and sighing.

"What's up babe?", Cory asked placing a gentle hand around her shoulder, Faye being too tired to push it off.

"Can just tell this is gonna be some bullshit assembly on how we've gotta be nice to everyone"

"It won't be that bad, just sit with me, I'll keep your pretty face company"

Faye had ended up sat in the main hall with Cory to her right, much to her dismay and Miss Keane to her left, who she knew would make it more bearable.

"Today is the day when two completely segregated schools, Stanley Nunn High School and St Jerome Community College start a new life together. We will not require improvement. We will not settle for good.
Together, we can be outstanding."

"What a load of bullshit", Faye stated, Miss Keane lightly nudging her and giving her a pointed look.

"What, Miss you know I'm telling the truth", Faye whispered smirking at the older women, who smiled back.

"No comment, now pay attention"

Faye then look to her right, catching Cory's eye, who flashed her a genuine smile before she turned to face the front once again, still feeling Cory's eyes on her.

"Thank you, Mrs Carter."

"Hello, Ackley Bridge, for those of you who don't know me, I am the school sponsor, Sadiq Nawaz. Me and Mrs Carter have worked closely together in the planning of this merger school, and have made an effort to delve deeper into one another's cultures.

"Ooh-la-la", Faye shouted causing the hall to burst into laughter except the teachers of course.

"What you think something's going on with them?", Cory whispered in her ear, snaking his arm behind her chair.

"Obviously, she looks like she wants to take him backstage and give him a quickie before next period"

"Shit Harvey, you're like some next level detective or something"

From across the hall Faye caught the eye of Missy who was looking between her and Cory confused. She mined a quick "tell me later" before focusing back to the front.

"Ey, what was that about", Cory questioned from beside her.

"Nothing for your pretty face to worry about", she answered causing Cory to smirk and turn to the front again.

"Over the summer, Mrs Carter accompanied myself and some other governors on a trip to Pakistan, she learned a lot of things. We hope our friendship can be an example to this school and to you all."

"Oi."

Faye turned her head to see what Cory wanted but saw him focused on someone across the hall, following his eyes she was met with the younger Wilson; Jordan who was sat smiling to himself, which never meant anything good.

"What are you smiling for?"

Before he could get an answer, the bell had rung signalling the end of assembly and the start of break as she went to leave she turned to Cory.

"He's up to something isn't he"

"When isn't he", he muttered before Faye uttered a goodbye and walked to meet up with Missy who was waiting outside the hall.

"Okay so what was that about?", she questioned.

"Sorry, what?"

"You and Cory, you knobhead", she replied laughing.

"Nothing, he just wanted me to sit next to him, that's all", she shrugged.

"You're his next victim", Missy laughed nudging her arm.

"Actually that's a lie, he's had a thing for you for years but it seems a lot more serious now", she finished.

"Missy we sat next to each other, we aren't getting married"

"Alright, I'm gonna say this because I love you to death, if you do go there with Cory please be careful"

"Okay first, I ain't gonna go there and second even if I did go there with him, I'll always be careful"

"That's my girl", Missy shrieked ruffling her hair before linking arms and walking away from the hall.
