Faye was already at Missy's by the time Nas ran through the door, seeing the two girls stood near the stairs, tears welling in both their eyes.
"What's happened?", Nas asked as she slowly placed her bag on the kitchen floor.
"It's Nana, she's dead", Faye stated seeing that Missy was having a hard time already.
"We can't tell anyone, they'll take Hayley into care", Missy said the tears in her eyes threatening to fall.
Nas had come upstairs to the bathroom to see for herself as Missy and Faye sat on the steps of the stairs in silence, Nas then began to descend the stairs before stopping a few steps above Missy and slowly sitting down.
"I don't know what to do", Missy admitted as she looked between her best friends.
"Well, usually we'd have to wash the body, but we don't need to worry about that", Nas admitted but stopped before seeing Missy expression.
"Maybe we should get her dressed, in her best clothes", Faye suggested smiling through the pain.
"She's not going down bingo", Missy laughed which caused the other girl to laugh along with her.
"Have you called the doctor?", Faye asked as she held Missy's hand tightly for comfort.
"You do know you're going to have to tell someone, right?", Nas timidly explainer careful not to upset or push Missy in this hard time.
"Say goodbye to Hayley", Missy whispered looking at her best friends with blood shot eyes.
Nas retrieved her phone from her pocket and began dialling a number before gently passing the phone to Missy who placed it to her ear.
"Good morning, Ackley Bridge general practice", a voice bellowed from down the phone.
"Hello, I need to report a...death", Missy muttered as she once again looked at her friends who smiled in reassurance.
A doctor had come by shortly after the phone call, everyone now situated in the kitchen/living room, the doctor slowly packing his stuff away.
"Is it just you on your own?", the doctor asked before closing his case and turning to look at Missy who sat on the arm of the sofa.
"No mum's out, she works shifts in a factory, making biscuits, I tried calling, but couldn't get through, no breaks practically slave labour, but what can you do?", Missy almost rambled before looking towards Faye and Nas who were leant against the wall in silence.
"I'm sorry for your loss", the doctor simply stated before he began to walk towards the back door.
"Thank you, Doctor", Missy muttered as the back door shut leaving the trio in silence.
"Do you want to stay at mine?", Nas asked as she came to stand in front of Missy, Faye following suit and sitting beside her on the sofa.
"Hayley will be back soon and your mum will be wondering where you are", Missy replied not looking up from the floor.
"Well, I can explain", Nas answered.
"No, the longer we keep this quiet, the longer Hayley stays with me", Missy pleaded as Faye took ahold of her hand once again.
"Please guys", Missy begged as the two girls simply pulled her into a hug which was all the comfort Missy needed.
As the girls pulled away from the hug Faye's phone began to ring, she looked to see Cory ringing her which made her sigh loudly.
"Why's Cory calling you?", Nas asked Faye simply shrugging.
"I'm not sure but I wanna see what he wants", she stated before walking to the stairs of the Booths house and answering the phone.
"What do you want Cory?", Faye muttered as she sat on the stairs.
"I just wanted to make sure you were okay, ya know because of before", Cory shyly asked making Faye's heart ache to know he still cared about her, he never truly had a reason to stop.
"I'll be fine, don't worry", Faye stated with a sad smile that she knew Cory couldn't see.
"Well I do worry Faye, a lot", Cory admitted a genuine smile breaking out on Faye's face.
"Look Faye, I really wanna talk to you and I don't mean over the phone", Cory stated making Faye sigh loudly down the phone.
"Meet me at mine in 10 minutes, we can talk then", she instructed before hanging up quickly not wanting an answer.
She walked back into the living room to see Nas and Missy waiting patiently for her.
"What did he want?", Missy asked smiling slightly at Faye.
"He wants to talk", Faye simply replied shrugging to herself.
"And you're willing to talk?", Nas asked knowing how miserable Faye had been without Cory but she also knew her best friend was good at hiding it but Nas and even Missy could see right through her.
"Yeah I'm meeting him in about 10 minutes", she simply answered.
"We'll go on then you muppet", Missy demanded laughing softly at her best friend.
"Are you sure, I can always stay if you need me", Faye muttered.
"No stop trying to make excuses, go and talk to him we know it'll make you happy and god forbid one of us needs some happiness in our messes up lives", Nas concluded as Missy nodded in agreement.
"First of all you're lives aren't a mess and secondly fine I'm going", she said before grabbing her stuff and hugging her best friends one last time before going to leave out the door.
"Tell us what happens yeah?", Nas asked as Faye smiled brightly.
"Of course"
"Use protection", Missy shouted making the trio laugh before Faye simply waved goodbye and left through the back door, walking slowly towards her lonely house.
