She wasn't your average girl. She dealt with abuse, verbal and emotional mostly. Every day she'd force herself to get up out of bed and put on a fake smile just to make everyone think she was okay. Her hair was a bright purple with blue tips. She was what you'd consider punk rock and emo combined. She always wore tank-tops and short sleeves because one time she got caught cutting, so she started cutting on her thighs. One day, she woke up and thought the day might have been okay. She put her contacts in and did her makeup. After she got dressed she fixed her lip ring and put some lipstick on, after all she never ate anymore so it wouldn't rub off on food or drink. Once she got to school she cracked a few smiles at some people, acting okay once more. She kept one headphone in to keep her anxiety under control, but then they called a meeting of everyone in her grade. Her one ex who only used her for sex was in her grade and she knew that seeing him would make everything come crumbling down again. She walked down to the meeting and had to fight off a bad anxiety attack as she entered. He was waiting for her and looked directly at her with a smirk. "Isn't it the school whore." she bit her lip to keep quiet. You see, once he broke up with her, she vowed to be a mute and not let anyone else in. "What fatass, cat got your tongue?" he continued. No one helped her, he did this every time he saw her. "You should know by now that no one is going to love someone like you." Her eyes started to water, the principal calling the meeting to a start. You see they were all seniors as well. "Go kill yourself you ugly controlling bitch. No one would miss you." Silently she scratched at her raw thighs, having not been clean a single day. "No one loves you, freak." he continued to whisper at her. He slowly sat his hand on her thigh and she swatted it off. "Oh, is the whore tired from prostituting last night to get money?" she suddenly stood up and ran out of the room, leaving the school. As she reached her car, her teary eyes wouldn't allow her to see so she dropped her keys. Her headphones were playing Broken Arrows by Avicii. She slowly slid down the side of her jeep and pulled her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around her knees and just sat there and cried. She could hardly breathe or see from how much she had been crying that she didn't realize that a girl came out of the school. This girl was a loner and didn't get noticed by many people. She noticed the bawling figure beside the blue jeep and decided to walk over to her to see what was wrong. Lyric jumped when she felt someone tap her shoulder. Mary asked what was wrong and why she was crying. Lyric kept her mouth shut and wiped her eyes, grabbed her keys and got into her jeep, knowing exactly what she was about to do. She kept her vow of silence. With the radio up, Waiting For Superman by Daughtry blasting through the speakers, she drove to the edge of the woods, and walked into them. She had a secret place, a waterfall, that she'd go to when she needed to be alone and sing. This time, she planned to sing her last song. As she arrived into the clearing with the waterfall, she was unaware of a form watching her from the shadows. She walked into the cave behind the waterfall and grabbed a gun she had found. She put on a song called Fallen Angel by Three Days Grace, and as the song was ending, she put the barrel of the gun into her mouth, tears falling down her face. Unbeknownst to her, the figure had gotten closer and right as she was about to pull the trigger, they grabbed the gun from her hand and threw it into the small pond that the waterfall made. Her vision was so blurry that she could not see the boy who had just stopped her suicide attempt. All she could see was shaggy brown hair and light skin with a black hoodie. He held her close to him. She tried to fight to get out of his grasp and after she exhausted herself, she whispered the first word she spoke in years, "Why?" she asked. He gently rubbed her back, where she had angel wing tattoos that her family never knew about. "No one deserves to die at their own hands. Especially a beautiful girl like you. What happened to make you want to end it all like this?" he asked as he gently held her at arms length away from her. In her still slightly blurry vision was the hottest man she had ever seen. She was hesitant to open up, but decided fuck it, he just stopped her from killing herself so might as well take one last chance. She told him everything she'd been through and he held her close the entire time, sometimes a few tears falling out of his own eyes. She'd wipe his tears each time one would escape and she stuttered a lot, but after she let out her whole life story, he hugged her tightly. "Someone like you does not deserve to go through all that, and your ex, he's going to end up dying alone a very gruesome death from what he did to you." He explained his name was Jack and she complimented his name. Talking for the longest time she had for many years. After it got dark, he asked to be her friend and if they could meet up at the same place every day to hang out. She agreed, hoping for the first time in a long time that things would go okay. The last thing they did before they both went their separate ways was he put some music on, and the last song to play that night was Perfect by P!NK.
