Feeling myself being shaken, I turned over and squinted my eyes just as quick as I opened them.

"Get up, Dee. You gotta get ready for work."

"What time is it, ma?"

"3:45. You know you gotta be there for 5 and we both know how you like to slow poke, so get on up. Your clothes hanging on the door."

I forced myself to sit on the edge of the bed. Picking up my 7 Plus, I saw that it was only 3:47. Swinging my legs back into my bed, I decided that I was going back to sleep until 4:15. A few more minutes of sleep wouldn't hurt, right? Before I could shut my eyes, I received a FaceTime call; it was my mom.

"Ma'am?"

"I know I told you to get your ass up, but I know you all too well. I mean, of course, you're my baby. You got until 4:15."

I smiled into the camera, "Thanks, ma."

"Mhm, don't make me regret it."

The phone hung up and I quickly placed my head on the pillow and closed my eyes.

Jumping out of my sleep, I quickly looked for my phone to turn the alarm off. I got out of bed to make my way to my dresser to get undergarments.

"Say, Dee? You up?"

"Yeah."

"Aight. I got you a 5 piece mild from Popeye's and a pink brisk. You can eat allat on ya way to work."

"Fasho. Thanks, daddy."

Hearing nothing but silence, I knew he walked away.

My parents are Kevin and Dreka Gilyard. Someone always tells me that my parents are their favorite or that my dad is their favorite rapper. First thing I say is, "Fasho? What's his last name then?" Of course that's for people that don't know me outside of school or whatever. That gets them every time. If you really think Gates is my dad's real last name, then you can't be a real supporter.

I'm a loner. I really don't talk or hang with anybody. I like being by myself.

Snapping out of my thoughts, I turned away from my dresser and headed over to my bathroom to start my shower. I turned the hot knob and steam immediately came into the room. Touching the water made me think of my dad.

"Baby girl, where ya at?"

"In the shower, daddy," I yelled back at him.

"Say, you got my link in hea?"

"It's in hea on the counter."

Really? Right now, daddy?

"Aight. The curtain closed? Cus I'm finna come in dea."

"Yeah, come on!"

He cautiously opened the door, stepped in, and then quickly ran out.

"Daddy, you okay?" I asked worried.

"Mane, it's hotter than a ant dick in dea mane!"

"What?"

I looked around in my shower confused. Ants got dicks? I was quickly broken out of my thoughts when he spoke again.

"Dee, baby, the fuck you tryna do in dea? Cook some damn noodles?"

He's so dramatic.
