Months later...
My hands held the gun tightly in my hands as I shot at the target in front of me I didn't flinch as the bullets left the device I had grown accustomed to the sound during my time here. Juan Luis wanted me to stay protected during the times he was away so he got his right-hand man Adriel to teach me self-defense and how to shoot.
"You're doing great!" Adriel encourages giving me a smile "bring it forward" He orders to the other men they push forward the piece of paper that had my practice dummy "you're getting better and better each time" he says with a smirk as we stare at where my targets had landed "thanks" I answer with a smile "you just need a little more practice and you'll be a pro by the time Juan comes back from Mexico" I sighed.
"you miss your family huh?" he asked noticing my sudden mood change I shrug my shoulders "it's whatever it's not like my dad has tried contacting me Zayn called a couple times but that was about it" I say carelessly "I do miss my dog" I say sadly he laughs "why haven't you asked for a new one?" He asked I shrugged my shoulders "no one could replace pascal"
He nods "when does Juan Luis come back?" I asked setting the gun down "in two days" he responds as we start walking away "who is he trying to add to his connections?" I asked "Joaquín 'el chapo' Guzmán" he says my eyes widened "as in the biggest drug dealer in the world?" I ask he nods
During my time here I had learned of Juan's occupation which was a drug lord he was one of the biggest here in Colombia I still don't know why or how long I'am here though neither Juan, my dad, or Adriel will tell me.
"If he closes this deal with him our markets will reach higher markets in the United States and different countries" Adriel explains "señorita!" Alondra yell's coming to the garden
"What's wrong?" I ask "Mr. Londoño has been arrested" she says running out of breath "como dijiste?!" Adriel asked "Mexican authorities arrested Mr.Londoño and Aurelio Casillas during a meeting" she says we quickly run into the house to watch the news with her
"Arrestados en la ciudad de Chihuahua, Chihuahua. Aurelio Casillas y Juan Luis Londoño Arias serán trasladados a la penitencia de alta seguridad del Estado de México"
We listened as the reporter stated that they would be taken to maximum security prison and disclosed other details about the arrest "I have to make a phone call" Adriel says leaving the room.
"Aye dios" i say rubbing the temples of my forehead stressed "do you want me to make you something for the nerves señorita Karen?" I shook my head "no thank you Alondra I'm fine"
Adriel walked back into the room with a sigh and stuck his phone in his pocket "we're going to have to Mexico, tonight" he says looking straight at me I gulp but nod knowing I don't have a choice.
