Ricky's POV

Chris asked me for help finding his first class, so I asked to see his schedule. We had every other class together, as well as lunch. I smiled and told him to just follow me, and he simply said, "Okie dokie."

I walked to the first class of the day, Study Hall, with Chris trailing behind me, looking around. He seemed as disgusted with everyone as I was.

I opened the door and walked in, sitting in the far back corner, while Chris looked around awkwardly. I sighed, not wanting anything to do with people, but since I felt bad, I motioned for him to come sit by me.

I saw him breathe a sigh of relief, and he walked over, taking the seat next to me. "Thank you." Chris told me, and I shrugged, putting in one earbud. I plugged the other end into my phone and scrolled through music till I found a song I liked.

One

Two

Three

Four

(All the things that she said

Was it all in my head?)

Come on baby

Keep it down

Honey hush your lips

I was nodding my head to the song, eyes closed, when I felt a small, gentle tap tap on my shoulder. I opened my eyes to Chris looking at me. "Whatcha listening to?" he asked.

"Not the American Average, Asking Alexandria." I said coldly, hoping he would leave me alone.

"Do you like Falling In Reverse?" My eyes fluttered open again, annoyed. "What?" I snapped at Chris. "Nothing..." Chris mumbled, shifting awkwardly in his seat. I forced myself to be nicer, maybe we had something in common.

"Never listened to them." I answered, and he just said, "Oh." After a brief uncomfortable silence, he tried again, asking if I liked A Day To Remember or Sleeping With Sirens.

I grinned at him, saying, "A Day To Remember was my first BAND, and Sleeping With Sirens was my first concert, with my best friend Ariel, who is like my sister." Chris smiled and said, "That's awesome. Who else do you like?"

I rattled off a list of bands, everything from All Time Low to Pierce the Veil, from Snow White's Poison Bite to Nirvana. Turns out we basically like all the same bands, but he's never tried Asking Alexandria, and I've never listened to Falling In Reverse.

We wound up talking the rest of the period, and it turns out Chris is a pretty chill dude. He even sings and writes, and wants to start a band, just like me. Maybe I could handle being his friend.

"So what's the deal with those guys?" Chris asked as we walked out of first period. "Nothing." I muttered, "They're a couple of assholes."
