Chris's POV
I got to school the next morning, and since Ricky was still the only person I know here, I just went straight to class.
I sat and waited for him to walk in, and after about ten minutes, he started to run in, but was pulled back, I assumed by the guys who had bullied him yesterday.
I jumped out of my seat and ran out into the hallway, where Ricky was pinned against the lockers by the two guys. I walked up behind them as one got ready to punch Ricky in the stomach, and I tapped that one's shoulder.
He turned around, and I punched him in the face, knocking him to the ground in one fell swoop. The other one let go of Ricky and tried to take a swing at me, but I ducked and punched him square in the jaw, and he fell back into the lockers.
I pulled Ricky away and we ran back into the classroom. "The fuck is wrong with those assholes?" I growled, and Ricky took a minute to relax his breathing as we sat.
"It's cuz of how I look, and what I am..." Ricky finally answered. I raised one drawn on eyebrow as I responded. "And what are you?" Ricky shook his head, and looked somewhat afraid.
It took me a minute, but I realized he was gay, and I couldn't help but laugh. "Dude, I'm the same!" I told him, and he looked at me in shock. "You... You are?"
I nodded in response and he let out a happy sigh of relief. "I was so scared you were gonna beat me just like Balz and Angelo do!" he exclaimed, and I could see tears in his eyes as he said it.
I leaned closer and looked him dead in the eyes. "Ricky, I am the last person to have room to judge anyone for anything. Look at me, I'm a Gothed-out gay with better makeup than probably any girl at this school!"
He chuckled softly. "That just makes you awesome." Ricky quietly replied, and I smiled at him. "Then you're awesome too, despite what those douche-pilots think or say." I told him.
Ricky's POV
I really wanted to believe Chris, that I wasn't bad, but I just couldn't let myself. I shook my head and put in one earbud, and turned on my music.
Oh, sweet insanity
You take my hand
And walk me out
Into the dark
We've walked this road
For hours and hours
Through the white hills
And the oceans
On a collision course
To Hell we March
You're doomed to this now
Oh the irony
If I'm going down
I won't go down alone
Chris interrupted my song, which he did often. "You know, you should stand up for yourself." Chris advised me, "Then maybe Balz and Angelo will leave you alone." I scoffed at the idea, saying I was too weak to do anything.
Hell, I was too weak to even try ending it.
"Then find out their secrets." Chris suggested with an evil grin. "Their secrets?" "Everyone has em. As popular as they are, they've got a lot, ones they would do anything to protect. You can use that."
I had my suspicious about Chris's words, and mumbled, "Sounds like personal experience." "Have you seen anyone fuck with me yet?" Chris asked. I shook my head, and he said, "I do my work here fast.
"I could bring down the whole cheerleading squad if I wanted already." I grinned at the thought of those ugly, stuck-up, preppy bitches being lower than me. "Why don't you?" I asked him.
"It's better to save it till they cross me." Chris answered matter-of-factly. By now, a new song was starting, and I couldn't help but think of Chris.
Keep talkin shit
I'll give you a fat lip
Take a chainsaw
Rip you down raw
Get me pissed
Don't fuck with this
I love it when I'm dangerous
Come in like a freight train
Painting walls with your brains
I watched him as he grabbed out a notebook and started writing, and I looked at what he was scribbling.
What the fuck
Put your teeth to the curb
Cuz right now
I'm gonna stomp
Your fucking face in
"That's cheerful!" I joked, and he shrugged in response. "I write what comes to mind." Chris informed me. The more I talked to him, the more interesting he became, and the more I looked at him, the more I wanted to feel his touch.
