As I was sitting in the knife works shop, I went back to where the crash was on the highway. I didn't think much of it until I got thinking. The dream was somewhat along the lines of the fact that, I was walking alone in the woods, I was surrounded by those undead walkers, I couldn't see them but I could hear them. In the dream I was walking slowly, I could hear the grass compressing beneath the soles of my boots, and the slow beating of my heart. I was walking along, trying to listen to the grass, it was a sound I hadn't really thought I'd miss too much, but I did I missed it without having to worry about possibly getting put on the lunch menu. I kept walking listening to the crunching of sticks, and the compressing of pine needles and grass beneath my feet. Until I was met with the sound of gravel and rocks shifting under my feet, and I open my eyes. I see tanks rolling through a large city that looks like Atlanta, not quite sure though, there was foot soldiers on the ground as well, one walked up to me and told me to run back to a building in the background, all the others disappeared but that single building in particular, the place was surrounded by walkers, I was running, and I ran far too close to a Walker and the walker almost put his teeth on me put I shoved my knife through the top part of its skull. I flashed forward through the dream, I was sitting at the top of a skyscraper, there was a few of us there, there was this blonde girl I had no idea who she was at the time, there was Cassidy, and there was a guy with dark brown hair. I sat down on top of the skyscraper, and was watching the walkers move below. Another flash forward happened, I was down at ground level, getting ready to run for supplies, and I burst out the door shattering glass around me, the glass attracted all the walkers around it to me, I was bitten on the shoulder by one because of being shoved by a few after lunging my knife through them. I ran and got supplies, but the place was overrun, I ran quickly out dropping all of the items in my hands, whilst dropping my gun to the floor, not intentionally, and I ran out and started to fade out as if I was falling asleep and dreaming again in my dream. I was awoken to the sound of gunfire, there was Cassidy, and the brown haired guy, and blonde haired girl, then there was more gunfire, I see the soldiers coming back in from earlier, the blonde haired girl and brown haired boy were bitten, and then shot, then Cassidy covered in blood, clothes ripped and torn, she had some grit on her face, her hair was going in all weird direction, she kneeled down and was talking to me, I couldn't understand her words, they were coming out muffled as if I was talking through an old radio without proper speakers. I said two words to her that I remember "shoot me", and she took the gun from her hip, and put it to my temple and hesitated. Then there was another shot from gunfire, and there was a Walker that went down behind Cassidy. I am then brought back to reality by Cassidy saying my name repeatedly.

"Quentin"

"Quentin"

"Quentin!"

"Huh what...whats going on?" I ask.

"I have no idea you sort of just went into a haze, you were just staring forward." She told me.

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to be, I was just thinking about something." I tell her. With a sort of pain in my voice.

The thing that was terrible about that was, I didn't know if that splash of blood was actually from me, Cassidy, or a walker. I really hope it wasn't from Cassidy because she was all that I had left, she was all I had left after I had lost my family, my friends, my hometown, everything, Cassidy was a friend I trusted, and when I was younger I used to have Déjà vu, and I would see in my dreams what would happen the next day, or sometime in the near future. But most likely this wasn't going to happen the next day, because we were all the way in Johnson City, Tennessee. And it seemed very real. She was the last person I wanted to lose, because if I lost one more person, I may just end up going completely mad. That girl that came in to the knife works shop, was still sitting in her chair fast asleep, out cold. While she was out I went behind the counter, and picked out a nice knife, I kept my Alaskan Hunting knife, but I just picked it up and kept it, it was what seemed like a Japanese knife, it was a small finely pin-point edged knife, that had four blades, all measuring out to 5 inches in length. There was another knife I found, this one looked like a glorified Bowie knife, it was ten inches long, and was curved in like a wave on the one side, it gad an angel wing on the back of it, and had a pearl grip handle, it was an incredible knife, well made. I put that one in my bag as well. I then proceeded to walk into the managers office, and searched around his refrigerator, as I was looking I found two bottles of Jack Daniels, I took one out and looked around for glasses, I found 4 glasses but only brought out two. There was the moaning outside of the walkers, but I just let them be, I poured myself a glass and asked Cassidy if she wanted any. She replied with a nod of the head saying no. I just take the glass and the bottle and sit down next to her, I drink it from the glass finish it, then just to try and forget I just take the bottle and drink it, no glass nothing, and I am just dead drunk, I am way passed Sassafras on the family drunkness scale, it was Hiroshima, got bombed drunk. I was slurring words like mad. I was doing crazy stuff, from yelling at knife racks to making out with a chair. I woke up the very next day, just crashed, passed out on the floor, no shirt, no shoes, lost my hat. I woke up and still had the bottle of Jack Daniels in my hand, about 3 quarters of the way empty, I just decide to finish it, try and forget this whole hell hole I'm living in. I walk around and find my hat, shoes and shirt, and put them all back on. I walk around, and see that Cassidy is still awake, I fall down and collapse. Knocked out cold.

I remember this as we are helping Alexis down the road with the sound of the groans of dozens of walkers close behind. We were helping her along, and we managed to get into a building, the place is surrounded quick.

"Cassidy, I'm going to give you the Bowie knife thingy I found, keep it use it, I'm going out the backdoor gonna try and distract them away. You go down the road farther when you know it's safe, find a gas station and stay there, wait about an hour for me, if I don't show up within the hour, leave me. Go, go and save yourselves."

I run out the door, and run out in to the street. I saw a few coming my way, but not all of them, so I pulled out my revolver, pulled off a shot, down to two bullets left. They all saw and stared at me, all of a sudden I was on the lunch menu, I didn't want to become lunch, but that's what happened. I see Cassidy and Alexis run out if the building, they both run down the street. Good that's good. I manage to weave my way through a few, and I dart into a building under construction, and I dart in and step on a few planks, try to jump up to the second floor where they can't reach, I jumped up and just barely got my hands to catch on the end, I swung my body and lifted myself up, I stood on there, and looked out a window that hadn't been placed yet, still fresh scent on the wood. I saw Cassidy working to get Alexis up off the ground, they started to walk down a hill and they went out of sight. I look down, and see the blood stained bodies that were reaching at me with such hunger that they were willing to trample one another in order to get to me, I look around for a possible escape, but all the gunshots attracted them to the building, and the building was surrounded on all sides, I just sit on the second floor, and put my gun in the holster, and take off my hat. I play with the hook and take it on and off. I say down and remembered the times I had in high school.

A couple things I remembered was going to the band preview performance at my high school, I was dating this girl at the time, she played an instrument there too, I remember seeing my friend who played the flute. They decided to play I Love Rock and Roll by Joan Jett, my friend who played the flute was dancing she was dancing so much she was practically dancing out of her shoes. And my girlfriend of the time, was dancing and she almost fell over. I laughed at all the people dancing. I remembered my freshman year I was in the all star game, which was all the grades pitted against each other, the year was 2014 when I did the all-stars. I remember that I did German Club, it was a good time, my freshman year I was writing this book, I forget the name of it, it was so long ago, my sophomore year I decided to rewrite it, and I decided to start out with two people in the beginning, I added another person in the 3rd chapter, she held us up in a shop in another state. It was a good time during those days, didn't really have to worry about much, nowadays you have to worry about survival, not getting bitten. All the fun stuff. It was getting dark, it must've been an hour about 10 minutes ago, so I guess I lost track of time reminiscing, I guess I got used to the groans too because I guess they stopped a while ago. I just look out the window, and drift away. I end up falling asleep. And wake up to the sound of cracking underneath me, the wood was cracking. I get up quick, and the wood snaps, I go falling to the floor. I land on a few planks of wood, and break the top few, I feel this sharp pain in my left leg, there was one walker in there, I just take out my knife and put it through it's forehead quick. I walk out the doors where I darted in a few hours earlier, I only see a few walkers around, they must've dispersed overnight. I walk down the road I saw Cassidy and Alexis go down, and think about reaching them, that's what kept me going, reaching someone else. Someone else I knew was there, my leg was probably fractured but I was limping badly. I even see some blood coming out, I had a shard of wood in my leg, I rip it out and drop it to the ground. I just kept walking, I was a dead man, walking down a road, hoping to find some sanctuary at the end of it.
