I walked down the road. I just had a lot of thoughts reeling through my mind. I kept zoning in and out, but I was being left alone by walkers around for some reason, I walked near one and it just turned it's head. I had been blood soaked from the blood bath back at the building, so I guess there is a way to camouflage yourself in this world. It was about 1 in the afternoon, I was hungry, starving, I walked down the road a bit more, and looked for restaurant. About two or so more miles, and about an hour due to the limp I had in my leg. I got near a McDonalds, I went in the place, and walked up to the counter and looked around, I looked into the kitchen looking for even the slightest morsel of food. I found a small hash-brown on the heating rack, I picked up the hash-brown and are it all in one bite, that was the last thing I found in the place. I try and hop over the counter, and hear a big pop in my right leg, I step into the floor from spinning on the counter like an old 80s music video, and fall straight to the floor, no hesitation my right leg was out, I gave it a few minutes and it regained it somewhat, enough to walk, and I walked out the door, I hear a noise, and see two girls run out of the building, darting down the road, in the opposite direction I came in, the one was blonde and wearing a flannel shirt, the other was a brown haired girl, that darted off next to her, they looked familiar, but I thought nothing of it, mostly because I was zoning in and out, I lost a lot of blood, I could've been hallucinating for all I know.
I kept walking, I was walking so long I didn't realize it was getting dark, I was so consumed in reminiscing, I closed up shop for the night, and went into a small apartment building, I opened the door, looked around, and drew my knife, I had one bullet left in my gun, I was only going to use it if I absolutely needed to. I walked around and found a door that was slightly cracked. I open it the rest of its way. I scan the room, and I shut the door behind me, and move a desk in front of it. There was a chair in the corner I picked it up and dragged it over to the center of the room. I kept thinking and I remember my Sister she was 6 & 1/2 years older than I, I was 20 years old, she was almost 27, I have no idea where she would be at now, if she was walking the streets as a walker, or just wandering around hoping to find sanctuary. I looked around the office, and found some old picture frames. I looked at the owner or occupant of this office and he had a picture of I'm assuming was his wife and kids and himself. The man was wearing a blue suit, a white shirt, and a black tie. His wife was wearing a black dress. His name was Jeff. I had no idea who he was but I put the frame face down. To keep his family from seeing any of the possible horrors. I payed down on the floor and fell asleep. I wake up the next day and walk out the doors. It was a foggy day not necessarily the best of environments for the apocalypse. I looked to my left and saw a man run into a red english telephone box, he was surrounded by walkers. He closed the door, I chose to look away and I heard this loud wheezing, and a lot of wind moving. I turn around and the box is gone. The walkers all just fell where they were leaning on the box. I just thought nothing of it, I walked away, I hung my head, remembering Cassidy and Alexis, hoping that they made it out safe. I hope they found sanctuary.
I walked up to an old saloon. Big Al's Saloon. I threw open the doors, not caring about what noise I made and the walkers I would attract. I trudge up to the counter. Reach over it. And grab a bottle of whiskey, Jack Daniels to be precise. I down it in about 2 minutes. I climb over the counter, look around and find a bottle of Tennessee moonshine, I found 3 bottles, downed them all. I passed out on the floor. Knocking over some glasses and bottles.
I wake up inside of a room. A room that was a palish blue color. There was blinds completely closed. White. The door was brown. There were operators in there, I was laying on a table, my leg that was bleeding like crazy is now all patched up. There was a man standing over me whom I've never seen before.
"Hello, my name is James Taylor. And you are?"
