Gosh!
In my haste to get to the hospital, I forgot to pray, let alone eat. Hmmmm I am so famished. The gases are at this point boxing my stomach walls. I practically leapt to my office from the theater. I assigned the task of what to eat to my secretary as I hurried to answer the phone on my desk. From the tone, I knew it was nit from within the facility. But who could be calling my office phone when I have a cell phone ?

Lifting the receiver, nearly knocked the frame on my desk.
Hello! I said, panting from having to practically run to my office from the theater. The line was faint and I could barely hear the person on the line. I replaced the receiver because I was hungry and not sure if I should waste my energy saying hello. The phone rang again and I answered after the fourth ring. Trying not to use a lot of energy, I said hello calmly into the receiver.

Hello! Is this Julie or Galina?
Hi Shan, it's me. How are you and the kids?
Shanai: Lina dear, I've been trying your cell phone but it keeps going to your voice mail. This is just a quick one. Zita had the scholarship.
Galina: wow! That's wonderful 😍! I'm not surprised though, our Zita is brilliant. How does she feel? Does she know already?
Shanai: She's fine, who am I kidding? She's been on the phone for two hours nonstop. I'm beginning to feel pity for the person on the other side lol. God help me when the phone bill comes next month lol. I've got to go. Please stop by on Sunday with Sean for dinner ok? We've missed you so much. Don't overwork yourself honey. You and that brother of mine need to stop working and enjoy life okay. You especially, you given your all to that hospital. Nice day and see you on Sunday. Bye honey.

Typical of Shanai. Well, I couldn't argue with her even if I wanted to. I had no energy left. If Julie doesn't bring my lunch soon, I might consider eating the candies on my table. I've been eyeing those the last few minutes.

Shanai is Sean, my fiance's sister. Unlike her brother, she's married to a wealthy Canadian businessman with three kids, Zita, Zara and Zachary. Those kids are adorable!
She's beautiful and loves to live life to the fullest. She's a bit petite and well groomed. She's the life of the party among our small clan if I can call us that. Her family members are all tall. She's the shortest among them all. What she lacks in height, she more than makes up for in beauty and brains. She's the party planner. She remembers everyone's birthday and she always looks for the smallest opportunity to organize or bring everyone together. She celebrates every occasion. Break a leg and she'll organize a get together, recover from an illness and be sure to get a party. She never gets tired. Her parties are always lovely. She's always in the tabloids. She loves to be the center of attention. In short, she's full of grace lol.

At the age of 26, she was a successful lawyer and reputed to be one of the youngest to be called to the bar. She stopped practicing after the birth of her second child.

Sean. What about him? A lot. He's a successful neurosurgeon working with one of the best hospitals in Britain. He's my source of inspiration. I call him God's special gift to me. We met at a Christmas party. I was a loner and had just come out of medical school.

I was angry with my roommates Gyaba and Olayemi for practically dragging me to the party. Those two are party animals! Gyaba, like me is originally from Ghana and the daughter of a successful banker. Money has never been her problem. She's now married to Prince Tutu, the first son of the Asante King, Nana Osei Prempeh II. Prince Tutu is the successor to the throne. Olayemi or Ola as we affectionately call her, is the daughter of the Governor of Port Harcourt. These two morons are sadly my bestfriends and I love them so much.
