Maddie's POV

Throwing the last peice of clothing into one of my pale blue suitcases, I glanced around the room once more.

I was finally going back to Australia. I was currently in California, where I had been for the last ten years. Yeah, when I was almost ten years old, my parents had sent me to America to attend an advanced boarding school, called Merriyard Academy. I spent six years there before graduating early and attending Southchaser University. Four years later, at almost twenty, here I am, getting ready to go back to Australia.

Turning around, I looked at my roomate and best friend, Skyler Matthews. She zipped up her last suitcase as well, spinning around to face me.

A smile tugged at her lips as she said, "I can't wait to get to Australia and meet your dad and siblings."

My mom had died from a car crash about four years after I left, when I was fourteen. That left my dad with my eight and four year old brothers, Tyler and Jason. By now they would be fourteen and ten. I havent seen them in person since Mom's funeral.

"You won't be saying that when you feel the heat." I said, adjusting my Blink 182 T-shirt and taking a hair tie from my wrist, tying my hair up.

"Oh it can't be that bad!" she said, rolling her dark brown eyes.

"Oh, you'll see! I haven't been there in nearly six years, and I still remember how hot it was!" I exclaimed, making her laugh.

We both pulled our suitcases and carry ons off the bed and rolled them to the door.

"Ready?" I asked.

"Ready." She nodded.

I opened the door and we left the dorm for the last time.

After taking a cab to the crowed airport and waiting for nearly forty five minutes, we finally boarded the plane.

I got the window seat, which Skyler quickly tried to bribe from me. After ten minutes, she finally gave up and sat on the faded seat next to me.

Before the plane lifted off, I pulled out my phone and tweeted: 'On my way home. Australia, here I come!'

About half an hour later, Skyler was absorbed in the beginning of Allegiant, which I knew she would be crying to me about later, and I was slowly drifting into sleep.
