Chapter 9

Keith stood and took a breath before opening the door to find an angry woman, standing there, holding a broken bottle. "Well, well, well, Your hiding Abegayle from me, good choice, but here's something that confuses me. Why wouldn't you hide yourself? Or are you scared that I'll still get you? Oh well, to late now!" Francine said maliciously. She started to hit Keith again as he attempted to run away. He got halfway down the stairs before he got pushed down by Francine. What he saw was horrifying. He saw a bloodied woman walking slowly down the stairs, bottle in hand, anger and blood lust in her eyes. 

He got back up and ran to the door, but he then saw blood puddled around his father. "Oh no." Keith muttered. "Oh, I see you saw your...father. Ha ha ha ha, he was easy to beat. One swing and he was out. Lucky for you, I went easy on him. I don't particularly want him dead. I mean, he does bring in the money. So I won't kill him just yet." Francine revealed. Lucky for Keith, he recorded the whole conversation for evidence, since of course he would tell the cops, if he lived. He ran out the door. "Lance! Take Abbie and run! I'll be close behind!" Keith screamed at Lance. Lance nodded, picking up Abbie and running faster than Keith has ever seen. Keith turned around to face Francine. "You know what, why don't we go hand to hand combat, You'll have even more of an advantage." Keith smirked putting up his fists. 

She nodded and put down the bottle, putting up her fists. They had been going for a good minute or two before Keith finally knocked out Francine. He put his weight on her in order to make sure she wouldn't escape. He called the cops and told them what happened. The cops came shortly after the call. "Ok, so we need to ask you a few questions to understand the situation more, so you need to come with us." one of the cops addressed to Keith. Keith nodded. The cop walked Keith over to one of the cars and out him inside. They drove off to the police department. 

Keith had walked into the pristine building and then entered another room where they asked him a few questions regarding the 'incident'. "So, besides you and your father, was anyone else in the house who got hurt?" The cop asked. Keith nodded. "Yes, my little sister Abegalye, I was concerned for her safety that I gave her to one to my friends so that she was safe." he admitted. "Do you know why your mother might have done that?" The cop asked. "Well, she isn't my mother, shes my stepmother, and no, I really don't have any idea as to why she might have done that." Keith said. After a few more questions, Keith was dismissed. It was 11:30 at night. Keith was tired and just wanted to sleep. "Keith? Hey buddy, you ok?" Keith heard a familiar voice ask. Keith turned around to look at the person who asked him the question.

He turned around to see Lance. "Wheres Abbie?" Keith asked. "At my house, sleeping." Lance revealed. "Oh ok, why are you here?" Keith asked. "Well, I came to pick you up." Lance revealed. Keith looked confused. "Why? And how did you know I was here?" Keith asked yet once again. "Because Abbie has been crying for your ever since we left, luckily my mamá has motherly instincts and got her to sleep after about an hour. I didn't really know you were here. I went to look for you after Abbie finally got to sleep. I went to your house first to find police, I got really worried, I thought you died! But they told me they sent you here. I'm so glad you are alive. I would have been devastated." Lance answered. Keith smiled and hugged Lance tightly. "Thank you for all you have done. I'm so glad I met you." Keith said happily. Lance smiled and hugged back. "Your welcome, now lets go." Lance suggested. Keith smiled and nodded his head and started walking with Lance.
