Eye Colors

This is a list of eye colors and their meanings.

Coal Black- Soft and muted with a soft gleam

Ebony Black- Soft and subdued

Jet Black- Cliche. Bold and shiny

Midnight Black- Cliche. Inadequate due to moon and stars.

Obsidian Black- Cliche. Hard, shiny and flinty.

Pitch Black- Cliche. Soft and shiny.

Sloe Eyed- Soft, slanted. Cliche in terms of people of color.

Smoky- Soft, muted, and sultry.

Velvety- Emphasizes the softness and muted quality.

Black eyes may indicate a person who can tap into powerful energies and is psychic. They also indicate that the person is deeply intuitive, sensual, and secretive.

Aquamarine- Clear, piercing and striking, blue-green. Tends to resemble Pacific tropical seas.

Baby Blue- Cliche. Light, true-blue.

China Blue- Cliche. Pale, clear blue.

Cornflower Blue- Cliche. Cool, muted medium blue

Crystal Blue- Extremely pale blue, lots of white rays, clear, luminous.

Denim Blue- Pale, faded, homespun.

Electric Blue- Pale to medium bright blue. True blue. Bright, energetic, striking.

Forget Me Not Blue- Similar to cornflower, slightly paler. Gentle, old fashioned.

Gunmetal Blue- Cold, hard, shining. Lot of white. Dangerous, ruthless.

Ice Blue- Cliche. Extremely pale blue, cold. Contains cold, pure light.

Indigo Blue- Extremely dark blue. Absorbs light.

Sapphire- Cliche. Deep, clear, luminous, shining medium blue.

Sky Blue- Cliche. Clear, light blue of summer skies. 

Blue eyes may mean a forceful, direct person with gifts of insight and observation.

Amber Brown- Very rare. Exotically wolf like. Clear, luminous warm gold color. 

Champagne- Connected to wealth, beauty, decadence. Very pale golden color with subtle warm orange tint.

Chestnut- Warm medium-brown with reddish or orange tones.

Chocolate- Cliche. Has a sexy, decadent connection. Medium true-brown. Readers will be unsure if referring to dark or milk chocolate.

Cognac- Medium, warm brown with golden rays. Connected to sexiness, sophistication, and decadence. 

Doe Eyes- Cliche. Big brown eyes that look vulnerable and sweet. Vague.

Honey- Cliche. Deep, medium-gold, warm color. Sweet, rich.

Nut Brown- Cliche. Deep, medium true-brown

Russet- Strong brown. Medium reddish-brown.

Soft Brown- Cliche. Warm, inviting. Absorbs light.

Tawny- Cliche. Warm medium-brown with yellow gold iris. 

Topaz- Pale, clear, shining gold color. Reflects light. Luminous. 

Brown eyes belong to a person who is strong and independent person with a connection to the earth and nature.

Charcoal Grey- Very dark grey, almost black. 

Cloud Grey- Soft looking, muted, luminous, medium to pale true grey. Associated with dreaminess, melancholy, and moodiness.

Graphite- Medium true-grey

Gunmetal- Grey with touch of blue.

Silver- Similar to cloud, but bright and shining. 

Slate- Medium grey with hints of blue. Connected to coolness.

Bottle Green- Deep vivid green, luminous.

Cat's Eye- Pale vivid green. Luminous. Pale yellow rays.

Chartreuse- Vivid light green. Lots of yellow. 

Emerald- Cliche. Very dark, clear green.

Forest Green- Muted, soft medium green. May contain a few brown specks. Luminous, absorbs light.

Grass Green- Medium true green.

Jade Green- Cliche. Smoky dark green with exotic black flecks.

Sea Green- Clear, luminous blue green. Sometimes has a dark blue rim around outer iris.

Hazel- Many color glints. Their predominant color is a pale- to medium golden brown. They might have yellow and blue rays.

People with hazel eyes have all the qualities of brown, grey, blue, and green.

Amethyst- Very pale, clear, true violet. No hint of blue. 

Hyacinth- Clear, deep, vivid blue-violet color. Luminous and beautiful.

Ultramarine- Darker than hyacinth. Closer to dark blue.
