In the morning, everyone sat around a long glass table. Kol wondered where the black haired guy, Caius was. Kol despised him with his life. No one touches Alessa and gets away with it.
From across the table, Celina kept eyeing him. Every once in a while, she would wink at him or flash him a smile. He never returned any of it.
Next to him, Alessa kept her grip on his hand tight. Every once in a while, she would loosen her grip.
In all,the breakfast was pretty quiet.

In the courtyard after eating, Kol and Alessa walked around. The Queen insisted that Alessa should wear a dress, so now she did. The silvery material shone with the morning light and ran behind her like a liquid mirror. Her long hair was pulled back with sparkling pins and the dark curls ran down her back. The roses near the fountain were like blotches of blood on leaves.
Kol peered into the fountain. Silver fish swam around the crystal clear water. Silver and gold coins sat at the bottom of the fountain, the metal glinting in the light.
Alessa lead him out of the courtyard, put onto the city streets. Even then city was beautiful. People walked around in Normal clothes, their pouches hitting their hips. Little kids giggled as they ran around.
"That's what being a kid is like?"she asked, looking up at him. Kol looked down at her and shrugged. "No clue. I was never a kid. My 'parents' never let me act like a kid."he said. "Mine didn't either."she laughed.
Walking through the streets, Kol spotted little shops that you would never see in the Normal world. One shop said, 'Penelope's Potions'; another one read, 'Jackal's Magic Restoration Station'; two read, 'Vintage Magic Items Shop'; one said, 'New Pouches and Magic Books';bone said, 'See The Future with Alice'; one read, 'Magic Pets and Thriver Animals'; and more.
The one that Alessa dragged him to was the animal shop. Inside was painted a happy yellow. Cats lay on the floor, some flew around the room. A tiny dragon was in a cage, its large amber eyes looking up at the two. A rabbit with wings sat at the counter, its brown floppy ears covering its eyes. An owl sat perched on a bookshelf. Three small creatures sat on the bookshelf, one red, one green, one blue. Their fur gave off dim light. A lizard with red scales lay in the light by the window. A baby hedgehog sat in a small basket, its small eyes the color of the sea. A chinchilla sat in a sand box, little turtles sitting next to it, their shells changing colors like Kol's eyes. A duck with silver and gold feathers waddled around. A small blob sat in a fish tank, his green eyes looking around, his small mouth letting out noises.
Alessa let go of his hand and went over to the creatures on the bookshelf. Kol followed her, looking over her shoulder. They chittered at the two, hopping around on their two small feet. Kol looked up at the sign that hung above the creatures. 'Brakst Creatures: great for company! They love being cuddled with. They can be taught anything! But warning! They are adorable and have to stay together!'
Kol left Alessa to look around on her own. Kol walked up to the small dragon and opened the small cage door. 'Gypsy Dragon: She loves to fly around. Her eyes change color depending on her mood. She's not an emotional creature, so she is a lovely pet to have. She also loves kids!' said the sign above the cage. "I'll be back for you, Gyp." Kol whispered.
He went over to the rabbit. The animal looked up and let out a purr. "That animal is pure love. She loves everybody."the woman behind the counter said. Her nametag read, 'Paige'. Kol smiled and walked off.
The blob was not a blob. It was a Xantan creature. It could turn into any creature you could imagine. But while it was the blob, it was as clear as glass. "I'll be back."he said again.
