Fred checked went onto his phone and into his contacts. He clicked on the name Alex and sent a message 'hey you coming out?'. Fred put his phone into his pocket when his mother walked into the room. "Frederick we need to go to the hospital......your results are back" she said as tears began to well in her eyes. Fred looked at her worryingly. "Mum....are you okay?" Fred asked. "Just come on get into the car" she said ignoring him. He climbed into the car and they made there way to the hospital. When they got there the sun had become even brighter than before. Fred got out the car and shielded his eyes from the bright sun. They walked into the hospital and went to the receptionist. "Excuse me......im here to see Dr James" his mother said trying to hold back her tears. "I-its for Frederick Bingham........his test results" his mother continued on. "Ah yes.....here it is just wait over there in the waiting room.......uh wait" the receptionist said as she placed her hand on Fredericks mother's shoulder. She turned to look at the women and the receptionist said "I-im so sorry". Fred's mother looked at her with confusion but before she could reply the receptionist had walked away.
Fred pulled out his phone again and went back onto his contacts and clicked onto Alex. "No reply?" Fred said with a confused tone. He messaged his friend once more, 'you gonna answer me?'. He shoved his phone back into his pocket and stood up. His mother approached him with tears in her eyes. "I'm going to go get so water I'll be back in a minute" Fred said as he began to walk away. He got to the water stand and suddenly felt weak. It felt as if his bones were aching from miles of walk. He began to find it difficult to stand. He was in pain and felt like screaming, everytime he moved more pain would shoot through his body like a million bullets being shot at him. His mother saw him struggling and ran to him. "Fred.....FRED!" She cried to him as he felt to the floor passing out.Frederick woke up in a hospital bed. His bones ached and his vision was blurred. He listened to hear the soft beeping of the heart monitor and the slow sounds of people talking in the background. His vision became clear again and he lifted himself up but only to be put on more pain. He screamed and as he did his mother, a doctor and three nurses came and led him back down. "Frederick please stay still" the doctor said trying to calm him. Frederick looked at the doctor and said "w-whats going on? What's happening?". His mother began to cry again and put her hand on her mouth as the doctor showed her a piece of paperwork. Fred looked at them suspiciously and asked " what's on that?". They all looked at him and then at his mother. She wiped away her tears and said "he needs to know". The doctor nodded at her and turned to look at Fred. "I'm so sorry but you have a very serious type of bone cancer Fred. It is very rare but I swear we will do all we can to help you recover from this. It will be painful to move but we will prescribe some medication to help although you will be in hospital alot". The doctor explained to Fred In a serious mannor. Fred felt tears rolling down his cheeks. "I-i want to go home......I don't want to be here" Fred said as he began to break down.
A few minutes had passed and Fred was alone in his room. He tried to move but the pain was unbearable but he didn't give up. He got out of his bed and walked to the door. He looked around to see his mother talking to some doctors. He slowly walked the other way but was losing his balance. He soon fell to the floor. His vision blurred and he could feel a numbness in his head. He could see the faint colour of red spread across the floor as he passed out. He woke up in his bed with blood over his clothes and bed. His head ached and so did his muscles. His throat was dry and sore and he could not speak. "Frederick your awake oh I'm so happy you alive" his mother said hugging him but he groaned in pain as she did. She let go quickly as tears grew in her eyes. Fred tried to speak but could feel himself passing out again but this time it was painful. I'm dying he thought to himself this is it I'm dying slowly and painfully. Fred looked at his mother as his vision blurred and his hearing slowly faded. His joints started to go numb and he knew this was his last chance to say to his mother "m-m-mum........i-i love y-you".
