I remember the day when you came home all bruised up and exhausted.

I remember how hurt you were and I remember when I tried to mend your wounds you would just push me away.

I figured you were just upset and you wanted some time alone so I had left the house for a few hours to get more groceries.

When I came back the front door was wide open.

I could've sworn I had shut it.

When I walked in everything was broken. Vases, pictures, collectables, furniture.

The whole place was a disaster.

I remember dropping everything in my arms as I saw you on the floor in the kitchen.

I thought you were a goner that night.

I cried so much I thought I would've passed out.

I was angry at you for hiding your secret behind my back.

But, I knew you did it to protect me.

If only I knew you were part of a gang.
