"What the hell Lucas?", I grunted, gasping for air as Lucas slammed me to the ground and secured his hands around my wrists, pinning me to the soil.

      No response.

Groaning, I surrendered and layed motionless, breathing in the damp scent of the dirt, silently waiting for the weight to receed off my body.

Seconds progressed until eventually Lucas shifted his figure to the side, thrusting up and gesturing one mighty hand toward me.

"Giving up so easily, darling?", he asked in a bittersweet tone, hoisting me up, and allowing me to balance before realeasing my hand.

"No", I snapped, harshly pulling my hand away from his grip and tucking a piece of flyaway hair behind my ear.

Flashing an intimidating grin, Lucas taunted, "Then what are you waiting for? Come at me!"

I considered that, comparing my options on which strike to use and what moves to make. After seconds, I darted torward him, leaping into the air and landing on the top of his back, but before he could swing his body backwards to slam me into the ground, I clenched my thin fingers around his throat, cutting off all air circulation to his lungs.

Springing off of his back, I transfered one hand from his neck, to tightly grip one of his muscled arms, thrusting it behind his back and kneeing him in the face, pulling away after a satisfying crunch.

Lucas grunted and I realeased my hold, sending him wheeling torward the ground. He lifted a trembling hand to break his fall but the impact of the fall landed him straight on his face. He froze and eventually broke his focus, and glanced up, permiting his furious eyes to rest on mine.

      "Seriously?", he croaked.

"Yes, darling . You were never that good at defense combat while training. Always dishing it out, but never having enough balls to take it. " I accused, letting out a huff of breath.

"Yeah, well I was just trying to help you train after you were almost choked to death by a f*cking demon last hunt!"

I winced at the memory. The demon had cut off my air flow by wrapping his long, taloned fingers around my neck, his scolding palms scorching my throat, sending slivers of fire through my body, momentarily paralyzing me.

The memory was a hazy blur after that, after I went crumpling to the ground, dark spots covering my vision. The last thing I recalled was seeing Lucas's agonized expression as he shot the demon directly in his head, blasting it's body into a blazing fire of scarlet before instantaneously dissolving into nothing. After, I was sucked into the darkness that awaited me.

Snapping back into reality, I met my friend's gaze with tortured eyes And quietly spoke. "I was fine, I didn't need help and I don't need this damn training!"

He let out a mocking laugh, The humorless melody of it filling the air. "You sure as hell didn't look fine and yes you do need this training if you don't want to be demon dinner! I mean, normally the situation is reversed, you're the one constantly saving me, but this time I kicked some demon a*s for you, baby!"

I frowned sullenly, "well I sure as hell don't want to train again today with you, let's go to the forest!" I squeaked letting the inner child inside me, take over.

"Umm... no! Demons lurk everywhere, you never know if they could be following you!", He worriedly countered.

But I ignored him and sprinted off into the gloomy forest.
