Chapter 7: Don't Get Caught..

The 3 days of MT wasn't as bad as I had expected. I actually had a lot of fun, and enjoyed myself. There were a lot of fun team building exercises, and I got to know my aunt's baking company a bit better. I even got closer to Minseok. I mean not in a romantic kind of way.. or, at least I tried to tell myself that.

On last day of the MT there was to be held a little evening get-together called "Sweet Dreams." It's pretty much a night of sweetness overload, when all the bakers and other employees are encouraged to share their favorite baked goods or dish that they are most confident in making. Just think a diabetic's worst nightmare. Everything from cakes to cookies and of course macarons were to be shared that night.

Minseok and I planned on making macarons of course. Jaemin and Sehun also planned on making dark chocolate strawberry cake. It's been a while since I've made macarons, and to be honest, I wasn't the very best at it. Sure, I was pretty good at baking cakes, cookies, and other pastries, but I found that macarons were the toughest for me to master. Which is mainly the reason why I wanted to learn how to make them from my aunt.

"So," Minseok said to me after dinner as we gathered our ingredients in the main kitchen. "Shall we get started?" He smiled as he said this and I could tell he seemed a bit excited.

"Mm, yeah I guess.." I said a little unsure. "But I'm just warning you, I don't have much experience making these things.."

"Ah, geokjonghajima (dont' worry)." he said to reassure me. "That's why I'm here, right?" He gave me another smile, and I couldn't help but find his eye smile adorable. Don't mix business with pleasure, Minji-ah, I tried to remind myself.

We worked diligently on the fillings first, then took on making the actual macarons, but making macarons was hard work. We decided on making just 3 simple flavors, but even then, I had a somewhat difficult time. I had already ruined 3 batches of macarons, and felt discouraged; making them was so much harder than I expected.

"Remember, once you get the right consistency, you don't want to over-beat it because then your macaron will fall apart and be flat. Mix in the rest of the ingredients as gently as possible." Minseok reminded me.

"Nae," I responded as I tried to mix in the food coloring for our macarons. Minseok carefully watched me as I tried to gently fold in the food coloring into the macaron batter. I could feel his eyes staring again, as if they were burning a hole right through me. "Am I doing this right, sunbaenim?" I asked to try to relieve some of that pressure off me.

"Mix a little slower.." He said softly. He then walked over and stood right behind me, one arm going around me to hold the bowl, and his other grabbing my other hand to guide my mixing. "Ireoke.." he said softly. His hands felt strong, yet gentle as he guided me and showed me how to mix slow and gently.

I could feel and hear his steady breathing on my neck as he said, "Mixing too fast will also make your macarons fall apart.." His breath felt warm and tickled my neck. It seriously made me even more nervous, and I felt as if I had a million butterflies fluttering around in my stomach. Although he was doing this for teaching purposes, the warmth I felt while being in his embrace felt comfortable, yet at the same time it made me nervous. After about a minute of him holding me, I took a few steps forward to step out of his arms then turned around.

"Ahh, kamsahamnida, sunbaenim.." I said not trying to sound at all flustered. "Thanks for showing me." We both looked at each other awkwardly, then continued on making the rest of our batches of macarons with not many words exchanged. By the time we were done making our macarons, it was time for everyone to share their dish. Everyone had placed their creation in the dining room table to share, and we all took a sample of each sweet creation that was made.

I filled my little plate with pastries, then found a spot on a table next to Jaemin.

"Ya, Jaemin-ah," I whispered to her urgently. She was stuffing her face with the cake she and Sehun made. "Something.. weird kind of happened today.."

"Wahh, mashta!! Making a cake with love makes it all the more delicious!" Jaemin squealed with her mouth full, continuing to stuff her face with food. "I think this is my favorite part out of this whole MT!"

"YA JAEMIN-AH!" I whispered again harshly. "Do you not hear me?!" I yanked the fork she was holding just as she was about to stuff her face once again.

"Aiii, eonnniiiiii!" Jaemin whined. "Waeee~ I was listening to you, I promise! Just give me back my fork, jebal~" she pleaded.

Satisfied that I had her attenion, I give Jaemin back her fork and said, "So we were making our macarons, right? And as I was mixing the batter, Minseok comes from behind to "show" me how to mix it. I know it was for teaching purposes, but it really felt like a backhug, and that he did it to have some kind of skinship with me!" My face turned red as it also added, "..but I kind of liked it though.."

"Eonni, do you know what this means? He probably likes you!~" Jaemin teased.

"Ya, Yoo Jaemin. Don't tease me about stuff like that. I have to admit, it did feel kind of nice, but I don't want to make things awkward, or have any misunderstandings. So don't say things like that; It makes me feel uncomfortable." I said to her.

"What makes you feel uncomfortable?" asked a voice.

Turning a bit red in the ears, I turned around to see Minseok standing over us. "Nae?" I asked him. Dammit, did he hear everything I just said?!

"What makes you feel uncomfortable?" he repeated once again.

"Ah, nothing really, sunbae. I was just telling Jaemin how I'm still slightly uncomfortable  being called eonni. It's still taking some getting used to," I lied.

"No you're not. You're--" but before Jaemin could say anymore, I stuffed more cake in her face.

"Mm, eat up Jaemin. Mashta, no?" I said, giving her a look. Say any more, and you die. I warned her with my eyes.

"Ah, kurokuna..." said Minseok. "..Anyway, Minji-ssi, your aunt wants to see us both right now."

"What? Us? She wants to see us? Both? Right now? As in, she's going to talk to us both at the same time? Right this moment?" I asked, a bit nervous. Crap, did someone see us while he had his arms around me? Imo did warn me not to date or make any moves with Minseok. Man, I'm going to be in trouble if she thinks I'm flirting with one of her bakers!

"Yeah, she told me to come bring you with me; she wants to talk to the both of us." Minseok said, not the least bit bothered by it.

Crap crap crap. I'm in trouble.. But why is he not phased by this? Does he not think we're in trouble? Someone could have easily told Imo about us being too close.. "Ahh, nae. I'll be right there." I said. I got up, fixed my outfit, and I looked at Jaemin with pleading eyes. Jaemin just looked back, with her mouth full and said, "Fighting~!"

I really hope I'm not in deep shit.. I thought to myself as I followed Minseok to see Imo.
