We drove to our favorite chicken restaurant/hangout spot & ordered our usuals. Jongin ordered the spicy garlic fried chicken while I ordered just some jap chae noodles to munch on. I would always end up picking off of his plate anyways.

As we waited for our food to arrive, Jongin asked, "So, excited for your trip to Korea?"

"Mm, kind of I guess? I mean, the last time I've been there was when I was 6 or 7. Plus, I'm not just there for vacation.. I'm staying with my aunt so she can teach me how to bake." I explained.

"Oh, that's right. I hope you learn how to make macarons just like her bakeshop; that way, you can make me all the macarons I want!" Jongin said with a huge smile on his face. "Who woulda thought that you are the niece of THE Yoo Hyona, owner of Le Petite Bakeshop?"

"Hey, I got some mad baking skills, so of course I'd be related to her. And if I plan on opening up my own bakeshop, who else better to learn from than her."

My aunt is the owner of a very well-known bakeshop in South Korea, and her shop is known for her macarons & cakes.  Everyone from celebrities to politicians buy cakes & macarons for special occasions from her shop.

Our food arrived, and we dug in. I quickly reached across the table to steal a piece of chicken from my best friend.

"Ya, ya!! Minji noona! Get your own food!" Jongin yelled. But it was too late, I had the chicken between my chopsticks & had already taken a bite. He glared at me as he hunched over his chicken overprotectively.

"Kamsahamnida, Jongin-ssi!" I said playfully as I smiled & swallowed my stolen piece of chicken. Then I added, "And I told you to NEVER call me noona, you brat!"

We finished our food, paid, then headed to the fair. ~

I parked the car & we got out to walk towards the fair grounds entrance. As Jongin walked a few steps ahead of me, I took a closer look at my best friend.

He's pretty much a giant standing next to me. Me being just shy of 5 feet, and Jongin almost 6 feet, our height difference was practically a whole foot. He wore a gray SUPREME  tshirt with denim jeans and his old gray "dance practice" shoes. His style was simple; just like mine. I could see his eyes sparkle with excitement as he kept glancing between me & the fair.

"You guys seem so perfect! I don't get why you aren't going out with each other!" I've heard this many times from my other friends. Jongin was smart, funny, and always there for me whenever I need him. He wasn't ugly either, in fact he was the total opposite;  so many girls have had crushes on him since our Freshmen year of high school. Some girls have even confessed to him. He's gone out with a few of them, but they never really lasted too long. So why weren't we going out? My answer is simple: I valued my friendship with him so much more than a romantic relationship. Our friendship means so much more to me than trying to ignite a fire that may not even be there. But as I gazed at him a bit more, I realized how much I was going to miss him when I leave.

"CHOI MINJI!! Get your head out of the clouds & walk faster!!" Jongin yelled, breaking my deep train of thought. I didn't realize how far I had fallen back.

I glanced at him, rolled my eyes and jogged towards him. "Cooommminnng!!"

We rode a couple of rides, most of them the kind where you scream your head off. After the 5th crazy head spinning ride, I started to get some motion sickness so we decided to play the fair games the rest of the time there.

"Jongin-ah, wouldn't it be cool if you won me a unicorn?!" I squealed trying my best to appear as cute as I could to win him over. I was a little obsessed with unicorns & always thought they were like a lucky charm for me.
