He ended up getting addicted to heroin and we're helping him detox so he can testify against Bryce.

I climbed through the window as instructed by Clay, carefully trying not to break anything as I stepped into his room. I successfully step into the room, turning to see Clay standing, a tired Justin on the couch.
"Hey, what do you need me to do?" I asked Clay.
"Just make sure he doesn't puke anywhere but the trash can, and update me every half hour. I have a tutoring session today, but I'll be back in about 2 hours."
I nodded. "Okay, seems easy enough."
"Thanks, I owe you." Clay said as he backed up, walking out of his bedroom.
I glanced over at Justin, his eyes meeting mine. "So you're doing all of this to testify against Bryce?"
I see Justin nod. "He shouldn't get away with all the shit he's done."
I sighed. I hated having Bryce as a family member ever since I heard about the things he had done to girls. It made me so sick to my stomach. I walked over to the couch standing in front of the brown-haired boy. "Here, sit up for a second." He does as he's told, giving me a confused look on his face.
I sat down, allowing him to rest his head on my lap. "Whenever I wasn't feeling good, my mom would stay home from work and let me rest my head on her lap. She'd rub my back, play with my hair, anything to distract me from being sick. It wasn't long before I was out cold." I told him, not even sure if he cared.
"Do you think this will work?"
"The detox or the trial?"
"The trial."
"I sure hope so." I muttered, zoning out.
"Isn't he your family?"
"He's my cousin. His mom, dad and sister were always there for birthdays and holidays. Bryce never bothered. Besides, I like to think that family isn't who you're related to by blood, it's about who's there for you unconditionally."
"That's smart. You know, I don't think I've ever seen you around school before." Justin coughs.
I chuckle. "I've always been the quiet kid. I'm in class early, I don't really participate unless it is part of the grade. The only reason Clay knows me is because we sit next to each other in one of the classes." I explained.
"Does Bryce even talk to you around school?"
"Absolutely not. I'm glad he doesn't. Otherwise, I'd have all his stupid friends to deal with." I looked down to see Justin's eyes struggling to stay open. I gently place my hand on his shoulder in an attempt not to startle him. "Go to sleep, you're obviously tired. I'm not going anywhere."
