After my free period, I managed to get through the first 4 tapes. I only heard Hannah's side of the story, I needed to know theirs.
I made a note in my phone of the first four people and what they did, just to remember as I kept going. I turned a corner, looking up to see Bryce having a conversation with a stressed out Justin. This was NOT good. I managed to get a little closer without giving myself away.
"You're going down, Bryce."
"How do you see that happening, exactly? Without you going with me?" That son of a bitch. Don't make a scene, Hilarie. That piece of shit isn't worth it.
"I will do whatever I have to to make you fucking pay."
"I'm not gonna pay for a goddamn thing, Justin. I've got a legal team working for me around the clock. I've got state fucking senators that will talk about what a fine citizen I am. What have you got? A junkie mom and a deadbeat dad? Oh, shit. Wait, that's right. You don't even know your dad, do you? You never met the guy. You're just a white trash piece of shit, Justin. Nobody's gonna listen to your truth. Nobody in this world gives a shit about you. You've got nothing and nobody."
My blood is boiling. Bryce acts like royalty. Funny, considering he's the biggest piece of trash at Liberty.
"Actually, Bryce, that's where you're wrong."
"Wow, well if it isn't the whore who decided to side with the druggie rather than her family." Bryce laughed, leaning against the locker.
"Funny, you're the one calling me a whore, but the whole school is aware of what you did to those girls. Also, in case you fucking missed it, more people are on Justin's side than yours, because at the end of the day you're still an extremely shitty person. So I suggest you make your rounds and say goodbye before your ass ends up behind bars."
Bryce rolled his eyes, pulling on my arm. "Whatever helps you sleep at night."
"Get the fuck away from me." He released my arm and continues walking away. I turned around to Justin, giving him a small smile. "I know it seems like I'm stalking you, but I promise you I'm not." I chuckle, slightly nervous. I've never been this nervous talking to him, I don't know what this feeling is.
"Don't worry about it. Thanks for sticking up for me."
"Trust me, it's no big deal. Being family means I'm allowed to say things that most people won't." I smirked, gently nudging his side as we started to walk together.
"I'm guessing you've heard the tapes."
"Only the first four." I shrugged, wrapping up my headphones. "This is Hannah's side of the story," I said, holding up my phone. "I wanna hear yours. There are multiple sides to every story. So what's yours?"
"You really want to hear it?"
"Of course. She didn't mention any history, so I have no real clue what her relationships with some people were like."
"How much time do you have?"
"All day, if you wanna get out of here."
