*Warning* This is not at all a light chapter

You are my sunshine, My only sunshine

You make me happy When skies are gray

You'll never know dear, how much I love you

Please don't take

My sunshine away

~Johnny Cash~

Innocence.

~State of being free from wrongdoing or corruption, or naive.~

A child.

Beautiful, sweet and pure.

Filled with never ending happiness.

No worries and stress.

No pain and distress.

No mistrust and only a guide.

A child.

Oh what it feels to be a child.

Don't you wish to be a child?

Once again to hide the ugly truths in this monstrous world.

When you look into the eyes of a child, what do you see?

Innocence?

Trust?

Oh yes, but as innocent as they are...

They are too smart for their own good.

A child.

It is our job to protect someone so new and small from a world full of evil.

So why do we keep hurting them?

Why do we taint the only angeles we have?

Why oh why, do we take their sunshine away?

We were their sunshine, their only sunshine.

It's so sad, we turned them to gray.

They'll always know now, how much we 'love' them.

Because we took their sunshine away.

~J.W~

Dedicated to the many children who have been abused in any way whether by rape, physical abuse, etc.

___________

First, I would like to say that I did not know what I was going to write, but while thinking about the song Sunshine, it hit me. As an author I don't want to just write about romance or comedy, I want to shed light on serious things. I want people to read about it so they can do something about it.

Next chapter I'm hoping to do something more positive because of pride month. Thank you for reading.
