Will's p.o.v.

Mike and I walk around the carnival grounds for a while, playing games and eating popcorn.

"I bet I can win you a bear," he says with a goofy grin on his face, pointing over to the classic carnival game where you have to knock over cans with a ball. I am starting to believe we really are that typical couple from movies that hold hands and wins each other stuffed animals at carnivals. Only instead of a boy and a girl, we're boys. But we're both still happy, so...I don't see a problem.

"I bet you can, with your strong arms," I say, returning a grin and winking. He laughs, a good sound to hear, and his cheeks turn rosy from blushing. We walk over to the carnival game and sure enough, he wins me a big brown stuffed bear. The worker, a man who looks as old as my mom but much meaner, grabs a bear and goes to hand it to Mike, but he says, "Oh no, it's for him," gesturing to me. The man looks suspiciously at us and reluctantly gives me the bear. "Thanks! Toodle loo!" Mike exclaims in a fake cheery voice as we walk away because obviously, that man could use some more happiness.

Mike grabs my hand as we start walking, and I am glad he did. People judge us as we walk around the carnival. I knew when I came out to Mike that things would be like this, but I'm not as prepared as I thought I was. Yeah, people still stay friends with Mike and me, but it's just awkward when they try to talk to us because they still act like they were trying to wrap their mind around it, around Mike and me. It's really not complex, though; when I found out Mike liked me too, it was basically pure bliss. I, for one, wasn't confused at all. What's not to like, I think to myself, snickering.

Mike looks down at me (because he's so much taller), smiling. "Whatchya laughing about?"

"Oh, nothing..." I say vaguely, still smiling myself.

We walk to the Ferris wheel and buy two tickets, again from a worker who's very judgmental when they notice Mike and I are holding hands. We don't care, though; we have ourselves to support each other.

We sit down in a passenger car and wait for the wheel to start moving. When it does, Mike looks at me beaming and says, "Hi."

"Hello," I reply, with a happy look on my face.

"What would you think," he says, starting to lean in towards me,"if I just..."

He doesn't finish the sentence, because he's kissing me, and I'm kissing him back. He makes me so, so happy...I don't deserve him...

He pulls away with a smug look on his face, which makes me giggle. "I think I'd like it," I said swiftly. "I'd like it a lot."
