VORACIOUS READERthat was the new nickname the freckled girl had earned on her third Wednesday of junior year. She was always seen, either on her free time or at home, with a book in her hands. Her new group of friends realised that she preferred devouring dozens of pages in minutes rather than talking with people outside of their small group of five, and they couldn't help but find it funny how she completely ignored whoever dared to try to interrupt her reading time, not even sparing them a glance.

Coach Finstock had been one of the casualties during his class on Tuesday, when the freckled girl instead of paying attention to a topic she already had researched and understood, was reading the pages of a gigantic book her boyfriend had found in her house's attic. It was a grimoire, written in Latin and with its pages reeking a musty smell. In a vain attempt to avoid getting caught by her professor, that day, Cara chose to sit at the back of the room, although Scott and Stiles were sitting in the middle. Unfortunately, Coach was anything but happy when he asked the girl a question about the subject and she unintentionally ignored him.

As a way of punishment, Bobby Finstock told the girl she would have to be part of the cross-country the next day. Cara wasn't enthusiastic about it, but she obliged without arguing, thankful that her vampire side allowed her to last longer during physical activities without feeling tired in the slightest.

Walking to the changing rooms with her white dress, Oxford shoes, and bag with her sportswear, the freckled girl was too lost in thought to notice she had entered the boys room instead of the girls' one.

Her refined shoes echoed in the steamy room with every step she took, and, as most of the guys were behind their lockers, no one noticed there was a girl in their territory either. Cara pulled out her phone, checking for the fifth time since she arrived at school her smartphone. The pictures she had taken of the grimoire's pages were still there, and she reread the text entry again. Kol spent all night, until the clock hit two o'clock in the morning, watching his girlfriend reading different entries and passages from different books. She had gone from Alaric's old mythology books, to the ones the Original had found in the attic. He tried to help, but Kol Mikaelson wasn't too interested in the Celtic and Nordic mythology as to read more than a hundred pages filled with information about it.

Cara stopped abruptly when she crashed against a taller, stronger body. The guy was wearing a green shirt, and he looked as impeccable as always. Lifting up her chin, when her blue eyes locked with Danny's brown ones, she gasped in horror, finally realising she had walked through the wrong door.

"Bloody hell!" She hissed, covering her mouth with her free hand. "I'm glad you had your clothes on," she joked, feeling her cheeks reddening.
