What Was Once Lost, Is Now Found

~ Chapter 1 ~

 Polly Cooper came back from the farm she was staying at in the countryside, and she decided to bring the one who's helped her through her traumas, so he could help the Cooper family after they found out that Hal Cooper was the black hood. The man's name was Charles, but little did Polly know - Charles was her long lost brother. They made their way back into the town of Riverdale, passing by the iconic "Town with Pep!" Sign over Sweetwater River. "Are you excited to go back?" Charles asked Polly while looking out of the window of Polly's convertible "Honestly,not really. I mean yes because I get to see my sister and mom again but when I left....things were insane,well as insane as Riverdale can get...and now lots have changed,once again." "Yeah... I feel like every year Riverdale just takes a darker turn." Charles said as they ironically passed through a dark tunnel "You grew up here?" Charles didn't talk much about his personal life,especially his childhood and nobody knew just quite why "Uh, yeah. I grew up in a poor family... In an even worse area then the Southside. I decided to leave and head to the farm when I was like 16." They passed out of the tunnel and into town "Oh...that's unfortunate." Polly said, driving past Riverdale high, and past Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe to the Cooper-Jones' household. Polly was unaware of the marriage between FP Jones and her mother, Alice Cooper since they had no internet on the farm; thus no way of contacting her family in Riverdale. "Wow... This is the place?" Charles asked as they pulled into the driveway, he'd never seen nor stayed anywhere nice before "Mhm. My mom makes a nice chunk of money...as does my dad but he's in jail now...." Polly said getting out after turning off the car,then getting her twin babies out of the back "Yeah I heard... How's everybody holding up?" "Last I heard, not too well... I was hoping you could help like you helped me?"She asked, picking up her twin babies in both arms "Of course, Polls. Although I am pretty nervous to meet them..." Charles knew he was the brother of the Cooper kids, but he didn't want to tell Polly. Not yet. That was mainly the reason he never brought up his full name - Charles Smith. Smith was Alice Cooper's maiden name, which was given to Charles when he was born.

The two walked in,Polly first "Mom! Betts! I came to visit!" Polly called as Charles quietly closed the front door "In here Polls!" Betty replied from the kitchen, she ran in and hugged them all, Charles looked at Alice and he saw himself in her, a lot. "This is Charles, the one I told you about from the farm" Polly introduced him to the family "Nice to meet you Charles, I'm Betty. Betty Cooper-" Betty started to say 'Jones' but Alice cleared her throat, Betty quickly covered her tracks "Well I'm sure you already knew my last name." She said as he smiled,shaking her hand,not seeming to notice what had happened "Charles, Polls, are you guys hungry? We're making dinner soon and maybe you two can help" FP Jones said coming in and kissing Alice on the cheek, Charles made a confused face resembling one of many faces of his half-sister Betty. "Mom.....A-are you and Mr.Jones....together?" Polly asked,extremely confused, Alice held up her engagement ring "We wanted to wait to tell you until over dinner... Nice one dear" Alice teased FP "Oh, well Congrats Mom!" Polly said, slowly smiling and coming over to hug Alice as the front door opened,loudly banging against the wall behind it "I'M BACK DAD!"Jughead Jones-Cooper called, slamming the door "You're still used to that damn trailer, Jug. Quit slamming the door like that or you're gonna break it again." Jughead walked into the kitchen throwing his bag down on the table,where Betty's was also sitting "Hey Juggie!"Alice said hugging him tight "Polly's here,with a friend"she explained as Betty hugged him too, he turned to Charles "Jughead Jones-Cooper, nice to meet you..." "Charles. C-Charles Smith" He shook his hand, Alice put a plate down rather loudly,FP took her by the arm and lead her upstairs quickly, Betty tilted her head at this. "So, Jug...What took you so long? Did you and Archie go on a hike or something? You should have been back around 4. Mom was real worried."Betty said,leaning on the table and looking at Jughead who was-as expected- digging through the snack cupboards "Oh we uh, we just stopped at Pop's." Jughead lied, they all knew he and his boyfriend Archie Andrews weren't 'stopping at Pop's.' "Good luck explaining that to mom." Betty teased,rolling up her sleeves "Oh don't act like you and Veronica haven't-" Jughead started, Betty kicked him as she didn't publicly talk about her intimacy with her girlfriend, Veronica Lodge. "Betty! Is that a..."Polly asked,taking Betty's right wrist and looking at the medium sized Southside Serpents tattoo on her wrist "I joined a couple weeks ago. Don't worry Polls, I can take care of myself... Right Jug?" He nodded as Alice and FP came back in, before anyone got the chance to ask just what they were talking about upstairs, there was a knock on the door, Betty went to answer it. She opened it, and the person standing before her made her double check her vision. It was none other than Chic Cooper.
