What Was Once Lost, Is Now Found

~ Chapter 3 ~

      After dinner,the Cooper-Jones' were sitting in the living room talking,getting to know more about Jellybean and Charles "So... You're Charles, does that mean you're my brother?" Jellybean asked him as Chic was staring at Charles, so much so that Betty kicked him "Ow!" "Half-Brother,but yes." Charles said,Betty leaned over to Chic "Do you need to go take Jug's advice and sit in a corner on a timeout and think about what's wrong?" She asked seeing how he still was staring at Charles "No I-I'm good" Chic said snapping out of it, Jellybean giggled "Mom... Were you guys talking about Charles upstairs? Do you know..." Betty lowered her voice, Jellybean and Jughead talked and told jokes which helped drown out the side conversation "Do you know that he's your son?" FP shifted closer to Alice overhearing "Yes. That's what we were talking about." He said "Why haven't you said anything?"Betty asked them "Jellybean just got here, Elizabeth. We didn't want to cause any more confusion tonight. We'll discuss it with him over breakfast tomorrow." Alice answered, Betty nodded.

"What are you talking about?" Jellybean asked them "Jellybean it's none of your concern - what the hell is Cheryl doing in the window?"Jughead asked,looking at the window where she was waving at them,with Archie "IT'S TEN!" She called was the rain quickly started to turn to a thunderstorm, Jughead jogged to the door and opened it "Come in... " Jughead said to Cheryl, "You sure know how to make an entrance." Jughead muttered to her, she flashed a peppy smirk. Archie followed her inside"Hey Juggie" He kissed him quickly "Hey Archiekins,I hope she didn't bore you to death."Jughead said,shutting the door but not taking his eyes off Archie "For your information he had a nice time. And don't worry, no one tried to hit on him. I guarded him like a bloodhound" Cheryl said, Jellybean ran over "Are you Cheryl?" She asked "IS YOUR NAME ARCHIEKINS?! NO IT ISN'T CHERYL SO FUCK OFF!" Jughead snapped,moving to stand in front of Archie "Easy Jug..." Betty said from the couch "So I'm guessing you are Cheryl" Jellybean said to herself

"Also, my amazing girlfriend that is better than all of you is coming over. Hope that's okay." Cheryl said going in the kitchen and getting a cherry coke "And she's bringing Veronica." Cheryl added "She's bringing RonNIE?!" Betty asked,trying not to jump up and down, Cheryl nodded "Polls why don't you invite Jason over?" Betty asked her sister "Okay,Elizabeth why are you inviting everybody in the whole of the northside over to our house? It is not that big." Alice asked "Oh come on mom, it'll be fun. Chic and Charles can sleep downstairs, Polly and Jason can sleep in Polly's room, and the rest of us kids can sleep in my room. You too Jelly!" Betty said, Jellybean smiled "Fine. But if your room is a mess in the morning-" Alice started "Yes, yes, I'll clean it, mother." Betty said rolling her eyes, Toni, Jason, and Veronica arrived and came inside "Do you all want to watch a movie?"Alice asked as everyone got situated in the living room "I'd love to!" Cheryl said going over to the cabinet that had all the movies in it and helping herself to picking through movies "boring." "boring." "sad." "stupid." She tossed through movies, Alice and FP rolled their eyes "We're going off to bed kids, don't stay up too late okay?" FP said, the kids all agreed and said their goodnights. Cheryl picked out a romantic comedy she used to watch with Jason (now she's with Toni of course) but she insisted on watching that specific movie. She enthusiastically put the disc in the Blu-Ray player and everyone groaned "Really Cheryl, this one?" Betty asked curling up with Veronica "Yes this one. "She said happily curling up with Toni, Charles and Chic were awkwardly sitting next to each other, occasionally looking at each other "Oh just cuddle already." Cheryl said to them "I ship you two already. Go on, scooch" She gestured them to go toward one another, they reluctantly did so and Chic pulled up a blanket "What's their ship name?" Toni asked Cheryl quietly with an arm around her as the movie started "Chicles, TT. Duh." She said confidently, Toni smiled and nodded resting her head on Cheryl's.

 It was near the middle of the movie when Veronica looked over at Archie and Jughead who were-As she predicted-kissing "Boys,really? Come on. Can't you two watch a darn movie,no matter how stupid it may be?" She asked "Oh you can't say you two don't always make out at Pop's." Jughead sassed, Jellybean laughed and gave him a fist bump from on the floor "Says you, you're almost worse than Kevin and Moose, only yesterday at school you and Arch were kissing in the hall,almost got caught by our English teacher which wouldn't have been good for you,Jug."Betty replied back,everyone turned their attention "This a relationship battle?" Cheryl asked "Oh great. Look what you started, B" Jughead said tossing popcorn at Cheryl "10 points if you get one in her ear" Archie whispered to Jughead leaning forward "I heard that,I wouldn't do that if I were you"Toni said "Aww the overprotectiveness is cute, TT" Veronica said, Toni shrugged "What can I say" She smiled. Chic and Charles were rather uncomfortable so close to one another... They knew they felt some sort of connection and Cheryl forcing them together didn't help both of their nerves. "Overprotectiveness isn't cute when it's Jughead. You should have seen him go off on me earlier."Cheryl said to Veronica,Jason and Toni, Jughead rolled his eyes "Shut it Cheryl" "You may be the son of a serpent,and be a serpent but you are not at all tough,Juggiekins. And you know it."Cheryl said flatly "Oh yeah? Do you want me to take your damn jacket away? I'm the one who gave it to you and I'm starting to think it was a mistake." Jughead snapped "Jughead stop it." Toni warned "Why? She doesn't even have a tattoo yet! At least Betty does!"Jughead replied,Archie put a hand on his shoulder "Juggie,stop it. Cheryl is only messing with you." Jughead sighed and took the higher ground, Cheryl could play that game all night and he's rather be comfortable cuddling with Archie than fighting. "Fine. Whatever. I'm going to bed,goodnight everyone."Jughead said getting up "Jug come on man" Archie said "Are you coming?" Archie nodded and got up following him, B&V followed.

Cheryl and Toni stayed downstairs to finish the movie, while Chic and Charles went in the basement. Charles flicked on the light in the bedroom "Where are you sleeping,Chic? Do you want the couch or the bed?"He asked "The couch is a pull-out, I think that should be fine" Chic said, Charles nodded "Is it alright if I sleep there too? I get pretty uh-" Charles started "Scared of the dark?" Chic finished his sentence "Yeah.... Exactly that..." Charles said slowly confused as to how Chic basically read his mind "Chic?" Charles asked after a couple of minutes "Yeah?" He asked as he stopped setting up the pull-out "Do you really not remember me?"he asked hesitantly "I do now. I just... I think there's something wrong with me. At first I forgot I even lived in an apartment... It's not you." Chic said looking down, they both finished setting up the blankets and then lied down awkwardly. They didn't turn the light out yet as they could sense something coming up that they had to talk about. "Hey Chic?" Charles asked "Yeah,Charles?" "Did you think I was dead after all this time?" Chic rolled over to face him "Y-yeah.....When I got home you seemed dead, or so I thought....." Charles nodded "I was poisoned, but it wasn't enough to kill me. But Chic, why didn't you take me to the hospital? Someone next door did, they found me on the ground like that but... Why didn't you take me?" "If you wanna know the truth, I panicked. I came home,saw you,freaked out and ran out of the apartment....I couldn't think straight and I needed to clear my head so I ran, and ran." "And then what happened? When did you start losing your memory and... How? Dumb question actually, you clearly don't know that" Charles shook his head "Actually I do know that. The night Betty gave me a head start, to run from the Black Hood. I was so scared he was gonna kill me that I practically went insane - more than I already was - and I started to forget past events and people... Maybe it was part of some variation of PTSD from the black hood." "I'm sorry... I mean, you kind of deserved it but still." Charles sassed semi-joking, Chic could tell because he was smiling slightly as he said it "I missed that smile. I remember it." Chic said admiring him "You do?" Charles got a bit closer, he didn't think Chic remembered their relationship but apparently he had. "Of course I do. I didn't forget about... About us. I never would. I was just so sad thinking I lost you that I didn't want to mention it when I saw you again." Charles hesitantly took Chic's hand "I still love you,Chic. Insanity and all."Charles said quietly,looking Chic in the eyes,showing his honesty "I love you too Charles... Being away from you was so hard..." He said intertwining their hands "Do you mind if I..?"Charles asked awkwardly,Chic laughed and shook his head,Charles smiled,kissing him softly yet quickly "I missed that" Chic said kissing him again "I missed you more."Charles said softly, they kissed and then realized the time "We should get some sleep, Chic... I think we both need it. If only Cheryl and Toni would BE QUIET UP THERE" Charles said loudly rolling on his back for them to hear, they obviously didn't. Chic took a broom and hit the ceiling "Shut the hell up Choni! Have sex on your own time!" He said, they stopped and it was silent finally, that was until the next morning.
