" Please, Tyler, come home! It's safe now, I swear!" Caroline begged into her boyfriends answering machine. She paused, closing her eyes, and said through gritted teeth: " . . . I love you." She hung up.

Though she was keeping a cool surface, under it, she was absolutely furious. It had been weeks since graduation and, even though she had been phoning him every single day, Tyler still hadn't returned. It was safe now, Klaus had promised her. She'd seen it in his eyes, he wouldn't break his promise.

It wasn't just Tyler who was blanking her, either. Her friends were too! They had been, like, completly ignoring her since graduation. Bonnie was at some kind of witchy-voo-doo-thing with Abbie, or so Jeremy had told them all. Oh, and Jeremy was alive. Caroline found it hard to believe, but everytime she saw Jeremy, she felt so happy. She knew how happy he made Elena.

Speaking of Elena, she was officially with Damon now, and as unhappy as that made Caroline, she had learned to bite her tongue. If Damon made Elena happy, then that was all well and good, but Caroline still believed Stefan was her epic love. However, there wasn't much she could do to support Stefan now, with him gone.

Stefan had left Mystic Falls, and though Caroline had spoken to him a couple times, she hadn't spoken with him for long. He had sounded. . . not quite himself. Though, Caroline was fairly sure he wasn't about to switch his humanity off, so she let it slide.

All of her friends had something, while she was left with a mom who was never home, a disappearing boyfriend, and a, well, Klaus.

She was so bored! So bored with this little town, and this little life.

Small town boy, small town life. It won't be enough for you.

Caroline groaned, slamming her head into her fluffy pillow. Why was it that Klaus's words came to her? It made her feel uncomfortable, unsure of her feelings. With Tyler gone, she had to think about what she felt about Klaus, and for her, that was the worst thing she could do.

Through all the anger and frustration, she realised she was really quite tired. With one hand, she fumbled on her window sill for her coffee. When she didn't find it, she looked up and groaned when she realised it was too far away. Caroline stood up and took the coffee, bringing the edge to her mouth.

Sipping on her coffee, she leaned on the window sill and looked up at the sky. A plane flew over her head, and for a second, she was sure she saw Klaus looking out the window. Caroline shook her head to get rid of the thoughts. God, why wouldn't he leave her head?

Klaus stared out the window of the plane, focusing on Mystic Falls. He was surprised when, suddenly, a girl that looked very much like Caroline appeared at the window of a house. Klaus shook his head. He couldn't think about her, not now. Klaus sat back in his seat, closing his eyes. He had had a sort of goodbye with Caroline, that was good enough, wasn't it? And she would be happy now, with Tyler, even if he didn't like that.

In Klaus's one thousand years, he had never been so selfless. But, for her, he wanted too. And that was something he didn't understand. Why would he want to be nice?

She had this way, this way with her words. She knew how to hurt people. However, she never intentionally did. She knew what hit heart with him.

Klaus sighed. It wasn't as if it mattered anymore. Soon he'd be back in New Orleans and could start a new chapter in his life.

Halloo!

So I know this chapter is really short, but it's an introductory chapter. I know it's taken a while too, but whatever, haha.

Other than that, I hope you've enjoyed. Please drop me a vote and a comment!
