So I live in a biggish small town in northern Minnesota. Like two hours away from Canada. It's a city called North River Rapids. Half of it is on the Leech Lake reservation. So we have a high population of  Native Americans in our school. Half of our teachers and a good fifty-five percent of the students are Native. So this leads to a lot of jokes like "I can't do this cuz I'm from the Res!" and the phrase "Ho wah!" being used for every minor inconvenience.
I find it odd, you never actually see a Native in a lead role. European, African American, and Hispanic people are seen plenty. But Natives get little recognition. You know what I've never seen though? A homosexual Native American, I know of like me and one other kid in my school in real life. Outside of that is a complete mystery to me. That's why I want to become a writer with the popularity of  John Green or J.K. Rowling. Because with me it's either that or the President... This was supposed to be a rant on how I in the middle of nowhere but it turned into this. Thank you for listening to my TedTalk.

"What's it like living with Justin?" Peter asked Lillary as we walked down through the park. "I'm guessing its pretty annoying."
Lillary didn't say anything back to him, you know, like a loser.
"Lillary, talk to people!" I hissed at her. "You're being rude!"
Peter laughed. "I love this." He said.
"Why would you? She's being rude!" I said.
"I love this family dynamic thing. You two are kind of adorable" Peter said.
I shook my head. "My family is not normal. I don't think this is normal. We aren't even a normal family. You caught us in between foster kids."
Peter looked confused. Lillary ran off to play on the park playground.
"Be good!" I yelled to her as she disappeared in the shitty looking play area.
"You guys foster kids?" Asked Peter, looking at me with a tad bit if confusion.
"Yeah, that's how Fredrick, Lillary, and I are even here. We've all been adopted by my parents. But every few weeks my parents take in a kid in need of a temporary home. It's not usually that long though, at most its two months."
"You're adopted? I never would've guessed. You look so similar to your parents. Even Lillary looks like you. She's like a younger you with shorter hair."
We both sat down at a bench under a tree.
"It's a stupid thing. Native people like the kids they can't even take care of in the custody of other native people. I don't like it too much but it makes sense. It has to do with the keeping of culture and shit. Its also done in other cultures too. But it always seems to be more wanted with Natives. Just my personal study though." I explained. Peter looked lost. "Am I boring you? I'm so sorry."
Peter violently shook his head. "No no, I'm just lost. You seem to know a lot about this. It must be important to you."
"Its one of those things where you know a lot about to the point where you believe its common knowledge even though it's not," I said. "Like how I also know so much about various religious, gay, and Native American topics."
"Its always good to be well rounded. I know a shit ton of sports things and I bet you don't even know one part of it." Peter said.
     "Try me!"
"Who won last years Super Bowl?" Peter asked.
     "The Twins!" I said confidently.
"That's baseball, Justin." Peter sounded extraordinarily disappointed.
"I knew that, I just wanted to see if you knew that," I said slyly.
"Whatever," Peter said. "But you said religion. You don't seem like a religious man to me. At least you're not Ned."
"I'm atheist but I find the topic to be extremely interesting. I've studied Budisim, Hinduism, Jehova Witnesses, and some Catholics. Also, I have some knowledge on myths thanks to Rick Roldan. Plus I've listened to The Book Of Mormon before."
"You'll have to test Ned on your knowledge someday. I'd love to see that." Peter said.
"I feel like I've just been ranting to you this whole time. I'm so sorry." I said.
"No no, it just makes you seem more unpredictable. That's cool." Peter said. "All of this and then you seem to have survival skills. If you worked out a bit you'd be unstoppable."
"I'm just generally unstoppable," I said.
"Yeah, whatever floats your boat, my dude," Peter said. "Anyway, should we discuss this little problem with those trash gays?" Peter asked.
"I guess. They haven't really talked to me much in the past few days." I said.
Peter had a sly grin that said he knew something was up.
"What did you do?" I asked.
Peter grinned wider this time. He did something.
"I don't know. Maybe I killed a man. Maybe I told a girl who might be Nick's official girlfriend about the situation I saw him in."
"You did what!" I yelled, jolting up from the bench. "Did you think this through!"
"No no, relax. I did actually think this through. I didn't mention your name to her."
"But what'll stop Nick from mentioning it? Then David will figure out and then what?" I yelled.
My phone began to ring in my pocket. "When did you do it?" I asked.
"Right before I asked you to come over. I didn't think you'd be so mad."
My phone kept on ringing. I picked it up.
"What the actual fuck happened Justin? You didn't answer my texts. People are talking about you. They're not good." Fredrick said.
"What... What are they saying?" I asked slowly.
"You've been outed by Nick after his girlfriend outed him. Everyone is talking about it. They've even dragged me into it." Fredrick said.
     "Peter did something," I said.
"I told you this would go back, Justin! I'm going to try and soften the blow. Talk to you tonight."
Fredrick hung up. I looked at Peter quickly and turned away. "Lillary! Let's go!" I yelled towards the park, leaving before she even came to me.
