Anon: Um, for the Drabble thing, maybe 4 and Kyle...?
4.Caught in the rain
It was after math club when Kyle picked me up at library. I spent an hour waiting for him, he promised that we would go to the bookstore together to check on this book that I've been waiting for weeks. I would have went there alone, but he didn't want me going home alone late at night. The new bookstore was rather far, so no matter what time I left school I would still have to walk out at night.
"(Y/N), sorry if it took so long" Kyle said as he opened the library door for me as we were about to leave. "It's okay, Kyle. I should be thankful since you're escorting me home." I said as he exited the library while Kyle followed. "I know you're strong, (Y/N). But the new bookstore is in a really dangerous part of town."
Kyle and I continued walking out of the school as he told me stories about how dangerous that part of town is. Apparently even Kenny avoids that street and according to Cartman the people there are the homeless people from that one incident where the town was invaded by them. "Shit. I think I left my umbrella." Kyle said as we left the school premises. "Don't worry, Kyle. There's only a 20% chance of rain." I said as I showed my phone that had the weather app open. Kyle looked a bit concerned, He was always such a worrywart. "It's going to be okay, Kyle." I said as I held his hand and started walking to the bookstore.
On our way there I felt a bit of drizzle. Kyle and I both stopped in our tracks. I looked at the street which had multiple water droplets hitting it, and Kyle stared at the sky which turned gray. "I guess I was wrong" I laughed. I didn't expect it to rain, because 20% wasn't enough to change my mind about bringing an umbrella.
As I was laughing out my decision I felt Kyle's hand held mine once again. "Let's go find shelter." He said as he started walking and searching for an open shop, sadly we couldn't find anything, so we stopped at a closed building which had a roof over us. As our clothes were soaked and our hair wet, we started shaking. I hugged myself to keep me warm, Kyle on the other hand started removing his soaking wet jacket. His white shirt under his jacket wasn't as soaked as his jacket. "I'm sorry, Kyle." I apologized for getting his clothes wet.
Kyle turned to me and took out a small towel from his bag. "It's alright, (Y/N). I can't blame you for how unpredictable the weather is." He said handing me his towel. "Is it okay for me to use it?" I asked as I was about to get grab it. "Yeah, it's fine. I was suppose to use this for PE next week, but you're more important than that." With that I grabbed the towel and tried to dry myself.
I was having a hard time using the towel, as I was shivering from the cold rain. As I was struggling to dry my hair, I felt Kyle's palm once again on mine. "Let me help you." He said as he dried my hair, slowly my hands went back to my side as I felt relaxed knowing that Kyle was taking care of me.
A few minutes later I felt Kyle stopped drying my hair. I raised my head as to look at Kyle, I knew that I was going to meet his eyes, but I didn't expect them to look deeply into mine. "What is it, (Y/N)?"
"Nothing, I was just wondering why you stopped."
"Well your hair is dry now."
I knew that it was, I just didn't want him to stop. "Oh.." I was disappointed when his warmth left me. "Why the long face, (Y/N)?" The worried ginger asked. "Nothing" My cheeks turned red, from the embarrassment of wanting to tell him that I wanted him to touch me some more.
It only took Kyle a moment to realize why I was like this. Kyle placed his hand on my cheek, which took me by surprise. I looked up to him once again with my cheeks brighter than ever. I saw how they were reflected in Kyle's eyes. Somehow I can see myself in his eyes, coming closer. That was when I was realized that Kyle was leaning closer towards me.
Unconsciously I did the same and moved closer towards him and soon I felt his soft lips against mine. I wasn't keeping track of time, but once we separated we noticed that the rain has stopped.
Once the skies cleared up I turned away, as so Kyle can't see how red I am. "Well let's go head to the bookstore." I said while I wasn't looking at Kyle. "(Y/N)." He called with his always gentle calming voice. "Kyle?" I said his name in confusion as I turned to him. "My towel?" I thought he was going to talk about the kiss, but it was just his towel. I took the towel off my hair and handed it to him. Kyle placed his palm on my hand as to grab the towel, but outside taking his towel, he also planted a kiss on my forehead.
"Well, we better get going, (Y/N)." Kyle stuttered as he said that, despite his brave decision, he went back to being his shy self when it came to romance. "Yeah." I replied as we started making our way to the bookstore.
