Beautiful Goodbye

Prologue

"Miss Windy, I know you badly need a job but there's no available job for you here. I'm sorry", the Manager in this Restaurant said to me. Yes, I badly need a job. Just a job that can help me to pay the hospital bills of my Mother in the hospital who's nearly dying! Oh, God...Have mercy on me.

"Sir, I'll accept any job. Waitress, Dishwasher or any job in your restaurant", I begged to him.

"I'm sorry", he just said and left me dumbfounded  in his office. Tears escaped from my eyes and so...I silently cried.

After I cried, I exhaled and relaxed so that I can think what I'm going to do now. I decided to sell my things like laptop, my television and also my new clothes that I had prepared for my future job but it happened to be used by the others.

What will I do now? I'm frustrated. I literally pinched my cheeks to wake myself up but no. What's happening right now is real. I don't know what to do anymore. My mother, I hope I can pay the bills in the hospital. I have to buy medicines for her. I don't want her to leave me alone. She's the only family that I have, I love my Mom.

I went to the hospital to see my Mother. I'll visit her first and then after this, I'll continue to find a job.

I opened the door and saw my Mom, lying on the bed. She looks so tired.

"Mom, I'm here", I said to my Mom. I smiled to her even though I know she can't see me. She's blind...

"My beautiful daughter. You're here", she said and a smile plastered in her lips. I'm relieved whenever I see her smile.

"Are you feeling alright, Mom? Are you hungry? Do you want to eat?", I asked her but she just shrugged.

"I want...you to be strong...brave... my daughter. If I'm gone I---", she stops when she heard me sobbing.

"Oh dear...Please don't cry", she said but I can't stop.

"You know, people will always leave. But one thing is for sure, the presence of every person will remain. You just need to be ready and always be brave enough to face the truth or reality of life", she said. I stopped crying. I hugged her tight and said...

"That time when the person leaves, I'm already brave and I already accepted everything. But now, I'm not yet ready to face the truth or realities in life", I said to my Mom.

"You have to promise me, Windy", she said with an authority in her voice. But I know deep inside her, she's hurt.

"Mom...please, not now", I said and sighed.

"Promise me, you'll continue your life without me", she desperately said.

"Mom..."

"Promise me, you'll do everything to achieve  your dreams in your life"

"Promise me, you'll be a lady...someday"

"My presence will stay with you forever, my dear", she said and after that, I heard that beeping sound. Leaving me hanging in this room.
