When Choosing Between

"Oof," i say as i fall off my bed.

The doorbell rings. I run to get it, jumping over things like tHe couch, my cat, the table, my dad, you know everyday objects to get to the door. I swing it open.

"Hey luce," i say surprised, "What are you doing here?"

"I came to drop Little Miss Wendy off." She gives wendy a hug and im suddenly very jealous of my little sister, "We had a fun time at the mall today after Zeref left."

"Zeref," I say, "Conveniently left all that out when he said wendy decided to shop with a friend instead."

Lucy laughs, "alright. See you soon."

She leaves.

I sigh and close the door. Zeref stares at me. As do my parents.

"what ?" i ask.

"I told you!" Wendy screams at mom and dad, "Didn't i tell you he liked her!"

"Yes dear," dad pats her head and walks off muttering "How come i didn't see it before?"

Mom looks equally shocked.

"Well," she sighs, "I have to admit, i lost that bet."

Zeref highfives Wendy. "AW YEAH" 

i pick up a throw pillow to do just that.

"Well?" he prompts.

"Yes, yes. 15% increase to both of you two's allowances." My mom kisses their foreheads and follows Dad.

"You bet on my feelings!?" I scream shredding my pillow.

"NATSU ETHERIOUS!" My mom screams from the Kitchen. "I Just bought those throw pillows two weeks ago!"

Zeref and Wendy burst out laughing.

"ZEREF SPRIGGAN AND WENDY MARVEL DRAGNEEL!" mom thundered, "NOT ANOTHER PEEP!"

"Peep!" we scream simultaneously.

"IGNEEL DRAGNEEL!" Mom screams

"Yes my most darling wife that i love so much and never make angry," he sticks his head out of his office as my mom throws a piece celery at his head.

He caught it and ducked back inside his office with his snack and we heard the lock click.

"Won't be getting any help from him," zeref muttered. I laugh shakily as mom approaches. I'm not getting out of this alive.

My phone rings. It sounds like a crackling campfire. I look its lisanna.

"Hey," i answer

"Natsu? Is something wrong." lis asks genuinely concerned.

"Nah, not really. Moms about to kill me but that's it." i plop down on the torn pillow sending a flurry of feathers everywhere.

"I'm picking you up in 15 minutes. You and i are joining Gray and lucy and having a fun double date. See you then." she killed the line and i groaned.

True to her word lissanna came for me at 6:15. She's wearing a pink dress and dark leggings underneath and all of that was under her winter coat. I smiled as we walked to the park.

"Why are we meeting here?" i ask.

"I dont know," she replied.

"Yay" i smirk sarcasticlly.

"Hey guys!" a voice floats over to us.

Lucy is wearing her winter coat over her dark blue skinny jeans. Gray is wearing a light sweatshirt over black pants.

Me? Im wearing a red t-shirt with blue jeans and a winter coat as well.

"Yo! Gray!" i laugh "How are you not freezing."

"Dunno." he shrugged, "The cold's never bothered me."

"Anyway" the girls sing. "Doo- doon doo doo"

"Its funny how some distance makes everything seem small and the peers that once controlled me cant get to me at all" lucy shrieksang.

"Hey lucy," lisanna whispered, "its 'the fears that once controlled me'"

"Is it?" she asked generally surprised. "Really?"

"yeah ," Gray laughed

She blushed and ran ahead of us.

"Fine," she smiled, "sing then."

Gray and i do laughing and sounding downright terrible but we do. Luce and lisanna stare at us as if our heads just exploded.

Lucy just laughs and brings us into the restraunt.

We ate and then went to a movie.

It was late so we decided to head home.

"Hey, its not safe to walk home alone at night." i say.

"Yeah" gray agrees, "Lisanna and i live on this side of town. So i'll walk her home. Natsu, since you and Lucy live close will you walk her home?"

"I CAN walk home all on my own, thank you very much." Lucy huffed igdignantly. In the cold her cheeks and nose were red.

"I know." Gray gave her a hug, "But as a friend i worry."

I feel anger boil inside me.

"Natsu," Lisanna kissed me,i was shocked. When we parted she waved and walked after gray.

Gray turned to Lucy and gagged. She laughed but it sounded forced.

We walked home in silence.
