Closed Eyes From The Watching World

Aching pain

Drumming sensation

Pounding feet

Wailing cries

The pleads to help

To conquer

To save

But to their cry

Came more hunger

More death

The will to live all but left

Hope was replaced with despair

And the aching pain was too much to bare

The hungry, tired, souls

Pleading

Dying

And on a lonesome road

Came their salvation

Riding the horses of freedom

But some lost the fight just before the end

Collapsing on the floor

The men galloped away

Some shot at

Some hiding

And our hopeful hearts, deflating

The pale skinned, blue eyed people,

continued us down the road

Fearful and careful

Pushing us into an opening in the trees

Quietly we're grouped

Some too weak to stand

Circling around, our captors watched

With sinister smiles

A glow alighted in each pair of eyes

And I, I looked to see dead souls

Living on a thread of a dead body

We all waited for death

And it was given

In the hands of our enemies

Shooting us with no mercy

Dead souls in running bodies, killing us

My legs burned

My eyes teared

Blood plunging out of my thigh

Dead friends, falling

Their fight was done

My body connected with the floor

My eyes wide to see

Our captors falling, like us

Dying, like us

To see, our rescuers ride in

Many more this time

But it was too late

The pain was numb

My pounding heart slow

My body shaking with fear

It was too late

My time was up

I was done, like all beside me

And all I could see was the tears of my saviors

The painful scream of hopelessness
But my heart stopped before my vision died out

And the last thing to see,

Was my sister's arms held out open to me

My last thought would be

Help them of their despair
