Chapter 2

Hogwarts Year 2

Second year brought loads of trouble for Harry. The first day itself was worse. When recounting the day later to Daphne, Harry said,"If I'd have known that something like this was gonna happen, I would've just sent a message with Hedwig." "What exactly happened Harry?" She asked. "Somehow or the other, the barrier closed before Ron and I could make it through. Then Ron had this bright idea of taking the car. As scared as I was there, I agreed without a second thought. Halfway through the ride I realised that I should have just sent Hedwig. The car crashed into the Whomping Willow, got destroyed and ran into the Forbidden Forest. Snape found us, took us to his office and threatened us with expulsion. McGonagall and Dumbledore turned up and and gave us detention. Ron has to clean with Filch and I'm up with that fraud." He said. "So that's why Hermione is the brains of your group." Laughed Daphne. Harry smiled at her laugh as he agreed.

After the dueling club

"So Potter. How exactly are you the Heir of Slytherin?" Asked Daphne as they stood at their usual meeting point which was the Astronomy Tower, acting as nonchalant as possible. "I'm not. I'm just a boy who can talk to snakes." Said Harry, heatedly. "I know Harry." She said as she ran her hand across his face.

After Hermione gets Petrified

"I know you are not the Heir of Slytherin, Harry. Your own mother was a muggleborn, and no matter what I don't think you are the one who will attack his best friend for being a muggleborn. I'll fight with the whole school if I have to." Said Daphne seriously. "No no Daph. You don't need to do that." Said Harry fervently. "What did you call me?" She asked. "Daph. Is it okay?" He asked uncertainly. "Yes. But only when you use it." She smiled and kissed his cheek.

After the battle in the Chamber of Secrets

"So what happened in the Chamber, Harry?" She asked. "Tom Riddle's shade was controlling Ginny. She was the one who was attacking the students. She was enchanted by a diary which Lucius Malfoy put in her books at Flourish and Blotts." Said Harry. "Is the monster destroyed?" She asked. "Are you hurt?" "Yes the monster is destroyed. And no I'm not hurt." He said and wrapped his arms around her. "I wouldn't be able to handle the stress Harry James Potter were you hurt or something else would've happened to you." She said and cuddled into his side. "I know Daph. I know." He said as they sat in that position together.
