Opening Interview 1...

(Interviewer) So, can you tell me what it was like being deployed on Piothea before the Swarm was discovered? (Codey) Well, it was paradise, nothing trying to kill me, Easy access to clean food and water, you get the picture, but that's not why you asked me, was it? (Interviewer) We're just trying to get your side of what happened. (Codey) To figure out if you should court martial me, or to give me a medal. (Interviewer) This isn't a interrogation, you can leave at anytime. (Codey) And the next time we meet, it will be. (Interviewer) If you don't feel comfortable talking right now, we can always continue later. (Codey) That would be perfect.

Opening Interview 2...

(Interviewer) What was your reaction when the Swarm was discovered? (Codey) I wondered how an entire subterranean civilization could've been missed, and then I thought, I should probably get ready to be deployed, since you know how 1st contact goes most of the time. *Laughs* (Interviewer) We have gotten better every time. (Codey) Then how come I keep getting deployed to planets where a civilization was recently discovered. (Interviewer) Let's get back to what we were talking about. (Codey) Fine by me. (Interviewer) Why weren't you in the security team for the diplomats? (Codey) The diplomats, in all their intelligence, thought that it would give the wrong image for them to come with a heavily armoured Helljumper, so they decided to take a team of Marines. That was their mistake, since Marines are never taught 1st contact procedures, since they're only sent in to fight the natives. Now I know that you're going to rattle off a list of marines who actually stopped the wars they were involved in, but those are the exceptions. Anyways, their security team had a rookie in it. (Interviewer) *interrupts* How could you tell? (Codey) The wide eyed look, him always looking over his shoulder instead of using his rear camera, and the fact that he was carrying a Needler, which everyone knows is bad, since it requires a constant supply of energy, and is very inaccurate, so it's generally given to the Rookie. (Interviewer) Okay *Pauses* I don't understand what would've gone differently if you were on the security team. (Codey) 1st, I wouldn't let someone so inexperienced on the team, and second, Helljumpers know that what something looks like might not actually be what it is, so unless one of them was going to hurt someone, we would've done nothing. (Interviewer) Would that have happened though? (Codey) *Angrily* Of course it would, since Helljumpers aren't trigger-happy Marines. (Interviewer) I wasn't trying to start an argument. (Casey) In that case, I guess you want to get back to what happened. (Interviewer) Correct. (Codey) So, after the incident, I was sent on several missions, all of which were a success, except one, the mission where I had to plant a GPS beacon on a hive that was blocking the Marines' advance. (Interviewer) Why wasn't it destroyed in the bomber attack before the attack? (Codey) There was a new type of Swarm, one that's basically an AA gun and a SAM launcher all in one, so when the Bombers were 5 klicks away, they started getting shot down, not a single one made it, so it was decided to send me in with a GPS beacon to mark the hive for long range artillery. (Interviewer) So what happened? (Codey) I was getting to that, any ways, while I was Dropping, one of the AA Swarm targeted and took out my Drop Pod, I blacked out, when I came to, I noticed I was pinned by a shard of metal in my leg, I then looked around to see if there was something I could use to get going, when I saw a Swarm Medic, she (Interviewer) *Interrupting* How could you tell she was a she? (Codey) You have the files, it's in there. Any ways, we stared at each other for 5 minutes, which convinced me that she wasn't going to kill me. So I asked her for help, her surprise was hilarious, but to be honest, my surprise when she actually helped me was way better, since it actually made her laugh. (Interviewer) Really? (Codey) Yes, she laughed. Anyways, after picking me up, she saw that I had a hole in my leg, so she carefully set me down, and sewed it shut using her second set of mandibles, did you know that there's a channel set in them where the silk they use is placed, so that it's out of the way of the needle. (Interviewer) That's interesting... (Codey) Yeah, and after she did that, she picked me back up and carried me to her field .
