Holly and Liam: The Proposal.

_Holly_

"Hey!" I smiled as I opened the door of  my house to see Liam there - smiling crookedly with his ruffled hair sticking unusually up in all directions. My boyfriend's hair was usually neat and sitting just right. Louis was usually the one with the tangled hair.

Boyfriend, I thought to myself. It seemed such a temporary term for someone who I loved more than anything else in the world. Who I felt much stronger about than just a boy who took me out on romantic outings.

"Hello, beautiful," He smiled. "You okay?"

"Well, you're here," I beamed. "So yeah."

He rolled his eyes. "What's that?" gesturing at the thing in my hand.

"Luke," I said, showing him the photo of my best friend. "The frame broke."

He scowled. "Luke!" He scoffed. I glared at him.

"Oh grow up," I said.

He shook his head and winked. "You, me, seven, Wok This Way?"

He referred to the Chinese down the road. I smiled, playing it out.

"Depends," I leaned against the doorframe, "Ask me properly."

He smiled. "Dearest Holly, will you give me the honour of being - I m-mean...going out with me tonight?"

I raised an eyebrow. "Being?"

"Never mind me!" He stuttered.

"Okay...see you seven."

I shut the door to ponder.

"Jesus Christ!" Liam had put the really spicy noodles all into his mouth at once. "Hot! Hot! That's so hot!"

"Why, thanks, Liam," I smirked, pretending he was talking to me instead of about the burning in his tongue. "That's so nice of you to say."

"Drink! Drink! Holly!"  He gasped.

"But I'm not thirsty, " I said innocently. I put a big spoonful of spicy noodles into my mouth. He stared at me in amazement, before finally getting his hands on a drink.

"Here's your extra fortune  cookies," The waitress said. She winked at Liam. Liam immediately straightened up, as if some sort of signal was passed. I bit my lip.

"Here," He handed me a fortune cookie. I pouted.

"This one is small," I said.

"Open it, then! What's your fortune?" He looked really excited. I concentrated my gaze of cracking open the cookie.

And a diamond ring sparkled back at me.

I looked frantically back at Liam. Except he wasn't there.

"Down here."

He was on one knee, smiling at me.

"Holly. You are my life. I love you like...Romeo loved Juliet. We are the best couple. I love you with all my heart. And I'd bet all my things and every penny I have you love me too. So...will you marry me, Holly?"

And it was just a ringing in my ears. I pinched myself subtly.

"What do you say?"

I closed my eyes, letting my life flash before my eyes.

"Yes," I whispered.
